How to make that sound...

Thanks fred e for the detailed post, it's much appreciated! I tried your instruction but encoutered several problems along the way.

1. I couldn't find the "Eq Plug." but if Eq Plug just means the Eq knobs on the Cubase mixer, then I know where they are ;)

2. "eq+compress the kick to glue with the bass". I'm not sure what to do here. I dont understand what compressing does. I played around with it but I heard no difference.

3. I grouped the bassline and the kicks, but all that did was let me select both audio clips with 1 click. I don't know if this was your intended advice. Just curious if I'm missing something here.

4. How do you Saturate? And where can I find Renaissance Bass? I prefer not to use the 14 day trial. I'm just going to be very sad after those 14 days.

5. I noticed my bass had hardly any bass. And boosting the EQs just made it sound worse. I was hoping RBass would solve this issue, but I cant get my hands on it. Are there any other VSTs or plugins out there to add the lows to my bassline?

Can anyone help me to figure out how to make the energy of this bassline, http://www.elezdyzer.org/drumbass_rendered.wav ?

probably no use to anyone but thought i'd mention it just in case. If you want some good bass overlay a bassy synth sound with a bit of an edge to it ie, add a bit of sawtooth or triangular..(albino 3 is pretty good 4 that) with a simple sine wave (produce that in say soundforge for example).

Sample a 10 second clip of sine and use that as a kind of rolling loose bass effect real low then use the secondary clip (from say Albino 3) to add some dynamics (you can use the same midi pattern to control both sounds). If the sine is a bit soft try adding some distortion or other FX. Sorry i know nothing about psy-trance and this info is probably really basic to all of you... anyway i live to learn. Hope its of use to someone.
Much musical love... Alex

Hmm...I'm wondering...How do you guys (psyheads) get your kicks done? I've been trying all over to figure out how to get that perfect kick...any ideas?

Post

guys 90% of the work is on tweaking the synth but don t focus too much on bassline, after hearing it 50 times even a good one sound bad.try to find a synth that don t need lot of equing,it sound more natural ,you have to look for the more natural sound so usually the less processing is the best .(maybe not everyone ll agree )
robohoe for the kick check isratrance forum, there is a few tutorials.

I have a question. I own trilogy. Is there a preset which is good for psy basslines without much tweaking? Also how deep should the notes be played (eg. c1, c0, c-1) because sometimes they sound extremely deep?

Also thanks for all your help!

HI ALL!!!

The best bassline i get from Vanguard with some twick's. Predator is wery good, but nexus's psytrance bank answer on all ur answer's. Perfect bassline!!!

Also i download 2 psytrance kick's from psy-load site. If u have time, use kick from other artist's. Zoom part where is just bassline and kick, cut kick, and spend some time in soundforge.

If someone know where i can get kick 4 goa & psytrance music, pls share your knowledge, it's a way to achieve immortality. :)

all the best
GOA!!!

Try with c3, but it's up to synth, and you. Bassline's in goa fullon play's with, [4 example]
in c2 and c3. Bassline like this is more powerfull and dynamic then bassline played on one note [kick, 3 note of bass]. Try to play bass like a mellody. Then bassline fillup low frequency, and u don't need gate, just melody's and fx's.
