I've heard that many but not all hip-hop songs are using either the TR-808 or emulations of that, there are some free ones out there, but there are some good ones that you pay for out there as well.

dont listen to that 808 crap man....a lot of hip-hop producers are using an 808 nowadays, but please do your part to break away from this....i want the old early 90's hip-hop back...when acoustic instruments were cool to use...
