Hi,
I just got a Korg NX5R and I want to use it with my PC via the PC-to-host cable. So I installed the Korg MIDI Driver PCI/F 1.32. But after rebooting my Windows slows down, i.e. slow starting up, slow profile loading and all applications seem to wait several seconds (10 or so...) before coming up.
This can be fixed if I remove the PCI/F driver in the Windows device manager.
But that's not the way I want it... so... if anyone has an idea what is going wrong here, please help me!
Greets, Kristian.
My system: Windows XP Pro SP2, ASUS AV8 Deluxe, AMD Athlon64 3500+, 2GB RAM, NVIDIA 7600 GS, E-MU 1212m, Korg NX5R

Ive no idea but Im sure it would work better if you just use a standard midi cable and no special driver.

You're right. But with the special serial-to-MIDI driver I can access all the 2x16 parts and the XG daughterboard at one time. As far as I know this is not possible with the normal MIDI cable.

I did a Google. Here is the driver for it. Sounds like a driver / OS issue :

I tried this one already. It is also slowing down my system. Really strange... By the way this link points to version 1.31.

The only other thing to try is use the driver and module on another PC. That will allow you to narrow down the cause.

I use the KORG MIDI drivers with my microX and I've not noticed any slowdown oon either my workstation nor laptop.

Good to hear. So it seems to be a very specific problem of my system configuration. I will try it on a second computer - maybe this'll give me some hints.
