any synth with delay and reverb. either as a built in effect on the synth itself, or as an additional vst effect.

Awesome music thanks!

That sound is created by chords with a short atack and a short release (a stab chord) then add a modulator like a phaser or LFO'd filter, reverb, delay, more reverb (some times switch up othe order of where you place the evolving effect). Standard (but lovely) detroit syle Berlin sound. And makes my knees weak every time.

Check out www.thinner.cc or deep chord, rhythm & sound, basic channel, sensual physics, etc.

Any percussive sound run through a resonator effect with delay and reverb makes dubby sounds. Ableton's resonator is pretty good for this (Los Angeles preset).

entec
did you get your sound? :)

Post

entec, awesome tracks! what are you currently using for your production work, obviously it's not vst...

Post

I don't think those are entec's tracks

Really nice tracks!
Alive and organic sounding even it is simple (consists just a few elements)

Really have to remember that there is no need to overdo it with a thousands of different sounds in one song.
Thanx for the link entec!
proud to produce warezless!

the other guys tracks are pretty nice tho - still dont know how you get that dubby delay and reverb to sort of meld into one effect
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

I'm quite certain that the basic channel guys (who pioneered that sound) used a Prophet VS, which is a wavetable synth; you can't get those exact types of sounds from a subtractive synth.

The are a couple of Prophet VS vsts; arturia has their Prophet V, which is a cross between a Prophet 5 and a VS, and there was one by a company called General Vibe, but their website seems to have disapeared. Finally, there's this: http://users.tkk.fi/~ajhuovil/vst.html but I haven't tried it.

It should be possible to get the same types of sounds from another wavetable synth, but that depends on the wavetables themselves. I've tried with a wavestation but could never get close.
