this was referring to Renoise 1.8. in another thread, i said, "XT2 doesn't recognize Renoise's method of looping, or something... if playback starts from the first bar, XT2 will always loop the first bar. if Renoise's loop excludes the first bar, XT2 will loop correctly but the loop region will still be displayed on the first bar."029 wrote:Even if you put the region loop off, Energy XT 2.0 starts looping the first bar by itself
i'm bringing this up again to note that the same thing happens in AudioMulch.

the looping you mentioned is the inteneded behavior afaik. the sequencers in the vst version are synced always to the exact position of the host.

they should always be synced, but in this case they're not. that is the problem. in those two hosts, XT2's loop gets stuck on the first bar, even if the host's loop is different. the loop region does not sync to the host properly. it works correctly in most hosts, but not in Renoise and AudioMulch.

waves work fine here (last i checked). what is wrong with them? all waves afaik need to be loaded via their shell. polac has also made a handy wrapper that converts each plugin to a vst. there was a post with the link in this forum today.

I've noticed a funny initialization bug in Ableton Live: Load the EnergyXt vsti into Live, add a midi clip and place a synth in the energy box. Load a synth preset sound other than the default one. Then save the song or clip (aka track). When you reload your song/clip the synth has forgotten its settings and plays its default sound.
There's a workaround: As soon as you make the energyXt window visible the synth remembers its settings again ... it's magical - and rather annoying
.
The 1.4 version crashes Live 6.

is this being looked into? the latest beta's still doing it in live 6.0.7 but it seemed to have been pulled off of the bugs list...soma wrote:*bumb* Kvr ad says it works in Ableton... you might want to check this out...

Did anyone managed to make the efx plugin version of Ext2 in Live ?
I tried several times, and it doesn't seem to let any audio signal pass...
I tried in Reaper and it is fine, same with Ext2efx in Ext1.4, but no way in Live !?VSTi version works fine.soma wrote:Confirmed (Live 6). Audio is sent to XT from Live but XT doesn't receive it or pass it from "Audio In" to anything.

Here are some of my experiences with Orion Platinum 7.11/7.5b2 as host:
- Load 5 energyXt instances into Orion 7.5, then host shows 1% cpu but the task manager shows 52%! What could this be? A hidden thread running wild? In 7.11 there's a difference, too, but it's not that big.
- Resizing of the main window is a bit tricky because it needs a saving of the song to come in effect. In 7.5 the vsti additionally pops up to its original size for the fraction of second, causing flickering whenever you touch its surface.
- I would prefer the dark skin, but EnergyXt forgets always the setting.

the latest version of reaper (1.883) seems to fix this.alex zonder wrote:As posted in another thread, the EXT2 VST doesn't make REAPER crash here, but there's still this (serious) problem:
After closing 'float FX' (EXT2 in floating window) the EXT2 VSTi should return to its docked location. However, EXT2's GUI disappears and I'm left with 127 CC sliders.
Clicking the UI button in REAPER's FX window doesn't help.
Only after removing and reloading the VSTi the EXT2 window reappears.
