Regardless the price, how many keys do you use/need/want ?

LOL... Indeed, I didn't think about 102 or 105 Keys... But I wanted to say for the master keyboard/workstation... (But a computer is a workstation... I know

25 for portability(rackmounted) and 73 for basic playing (i cant for the life f me use the 25 on my ozone nor he 61 of my jx3p, so forget about using all 88 of a grand
ill stick with 102 keys and 7 buttons on my mouse for now lol

have 61 would like 76 or really 88.. weighted/hammer action.. and pitch/mod wheels..

right now I have a cheap portable yamaha.. but one day that will change

If you only can play with one hand, and don't plan on ever using your other hand: get 37 or 49 keys. Two octaves is too limiting imho.
Else go for more...

I voted 88 keys (preferably hammer action), that'd be for the piano/rhodes/wurly sounds, for synths - 4 or 5 octaves is enough for me.

You do need something with a decent action. Novation 61 LE is about the best of my collection of old junk.

I have 25 which kinda sucks, but 49 would be sufficient for my dance music and lousy playing.

I think 61 is good - seldom need to go higher/lower when programming notes, but too bad it takes up a lot of room if you have a small space. Currently I've settled with the 37 mini keys of the micro korg (Did try the 25 keys of the novation bass station but that was just too limiting)

How many keys ? 25, 37, 49, 61, 73, 76, 88 ???
