And next to it, my whole studio.
Does running 4 monitors tax your video card and take up CPU cycles when your sequencer's meters are all being rendered in realtime? For example, in Sonar, when I have tons of tracks and the CPU overloads, if I turn off all the realtime meter monitoring, I can take the CPU usage back down enough to keep working. And what video card supports 4 monitors anyway?PhaseShift wrote:
It's small I know... standing-wave room only.
I really need to think about making some bass traps
best guess on that is a dual card/sli setup.Lunatique wrote:Does running 4 monitors tax your video card and take up CPU cycles when your sequencer's meters are all being rendered in realtime? heh, yeah they're a bit strange lookinstale bread wrote:never seen sony speakers like that woj
The monitor could have an option to detach for a better angle. But I fixed that by just putting a cloth under the device, making it have a better angle. But again, if I was using a X support, that people normally use for keyboards, the angle would be perfect. So its my fault for using a regular box thing to put the device on top.stale bread wrote:williamk, if there was one thing you didn't like about the openlab, what would it be?
I'm using an external keyboard and wireless mouse too, so I can't tell. And no, they don't detach.james0tucson wrote:Love it! Questions:
Is the typing keyboard convenient and comfortable to use? Does it detach? Does the touchpad on the left annoy a right handed user?
I'm using SONAR 6 (thanks Cakewalk!!) and I can ran SEVERAL Wusikstation instances. The processor is VERY fast. (dual core)james0tucson wrote:How do you like it for WusikStation? How does it do with multiple instances of WusikStation? What do you run for a host program? How does it handle great large gobs of Wusik patch libs?
Good question. Since here's a rented place, I don't plan to do much. But maybe once we move to a new location of our own.james0tucson wrote:Your last office decor was a work of art in and of itself. Any plans for the new digs?

that is a cool idea! i was wondering what those werebtw, if you look closely above the studio monitos there are 2 black frames hosting a bunch of vsti pictures. what i did was downloaded some vsti images and printed them on my printer. i bought 2 frames at Target ($19.99 each) pasted the pics and hanged them. my friends love it everytime they visit my home studio. they think that was ingenious.
Some look like reaktor synths/ensembles (or whatever they are called).grymmjack wrote:that is a cool idea! i was wondering what those werebtw, if you look closely above the studio monitos there are 2 black frames hosting a bunch of vsti pictures. what i did was downloaded some vsti images and printed them on my printer. i bought 2 frames at Target ($19.99 each) pasted the pics and hanged them. my friends love it everytime they visit my home studio. they think that was ingenious.
can i ask which you've got framed up?
It IS a great idea--only people who are passionate about softsynths would do that. I have considered doing something similar, but include some pictures of hardware stuff I'd never be able to afford--just so I can at least look at a picture of it.grymmjack wrote:that is a cool idea! i was wondering what those werebtw, if you look closely above the studio monitos there are 2 black frames hosting a bunch of vsti pictures. what i did was downloaded some vsti images and printed them on my printer. i bought 2 frames at Target ($19.99 each) pasted the pics and hanged them. my friends love it everytime they visit my home studio. they think that was ingenious.
