I really like when vocals have that reverb mixed with delay sound that sounds like a doubled track but has that delay that bounces the vocal around and a little extra feedback and mixed with some nice natural sounding reverb, it just makes every thing melt together, you know. Does someone know some units that are under $1000 that can give the sound I talking about? Tool,deathcabforcutie,vnvnation,30 seconds to mars and pretty much every song on the radio has these characteristics on there vocals
I wish I could test out a bunch of units but I live in alaska and stores here dont carry everything. Some suggestions would be appreciated! :D

Don't know about the specific sound you 're after but - apart from the beforementioned lexicons :D - there are the TC verbs - M series, best being the M 3000 - and there were a couple of cheaper reverb units which manage delay also - that you can get at Ebay nowadays for hardly any money (under 150 Dollars).
These were:

1.) Alesis Wedge and Quadraverb 2 - distintive, good reverb sound
2.) Ensoniq DP 2 / 4 / Pro
dito, huge arsenal of effects, warm sound
3.) Yamahas REV 500 / Pro R3 /DSP 2416 -
said to sound better than Lexicons cheaper units for Vocals

I would suggest harmony-central and soundonsound for reviews of these; i know
only the Yamahas which are very good IMO,
but not-too-natural-sounding.

Behringer V-verb. Ridiculously cheap. Just get it.

I'm lookind for those vocals that just seem to melt together I not sure if its a reverb or delay or both but I hear varitions on accountless songs on the radio, like for example 30 seconds to mars, tool, nickelback, vnv nation, death cab for cutie, just about every song on the radio. Its goes from almost unnoticed kind of sounds like doubling or short delay time to high feedback settings and the vocals just kind of melt.
