ManyBass presets?

Hi,
Glad I've got the download links and everything installed smoothly.
Just wondering how I access the presets?
The manual says it comes with presets as a FXB format, I'm using LogicPro 7.3 so not sure if this DAW supports this format, anyone know?
Usually I can select the preset from the top of the GUI in other VSTi's or plugin but there is no menu on this ManyBass.
Any idea what I can do?
Thanks
C.

Ahhhh...
I needed to restart my computer, not sure if this was documented on installation.
I'm using a Macbook Pro 2.16Ghz with 10.4.8
I had to restart just by chance because I selected one of the soundsets (the little gray dot next to Growl - Finger) and it froze completely, only choice I had was to hard reset.
Hope this helps and maybe add a note to the installer about restarting if required?
Good job on the product BTW!!

I'm just noticing that when I select a preset (total 97) the bottom left boxes don't load any soundsets up, is this correct?
It would be nice to see how the preset was made... all other parameters change.

Yes that is normal.
Those boxes are keyswitches....most presets do not have them active. You just load a soundset in that box (see manual ....it is fully described as to how it works)
See the presets at the end of the E Basses with KS at the end to see some premade ones.
Just add soundsets as needed.... assign keyswitch notes etc...easy but.... See the KS presets for a start to help you understand.
Manuals are good things....btw I wrote this one

Edit: also there are default notes left empty in the soundsets for keyswitches. Again ...in the manual in detail.

And a fine one it is! Really, it's better than most, and I actually learned something.Manuals are good things....btw I wrote this one
No one appreciates the art behind technical documentation. It just isn't sexy.

Good thing you didn't see me writing it then.... A pair of Homers' really helped to beat the heatwave.
Thanks Zomby for the comments.

Actually to correct myself (sorry, tired here and could have explained it better for you)... at least one of the boxes you mention should load a soundset. The top box should have a single soundset in place. (more than one box on the KS presets.)manytone wrote:Yes that is normal.

Are you getting at least 1 soundset loading with each preset? Each preset does have a specific soundset assigned to it. The preset should load and be playable right after choosing it with its soundset in place and auto loaded. You then add additional soundsets and keyswitches if you want them.

No, I'm not getting a individual soundset loading... I get the word 'init" on all the presets I try.
On the KS preset I load all I get is:
G0 and G# in the keyswitch box of the top two.
"init" (highlighted) in the top soundset box
"No Sound" in the 2nd box
Maybe I can email you a screen capture jpg?

Hmmm, interesting. But the soundsets are there, correct? In the browser (above the four keyswitching spaces) you can see the soundset files, so they are installed correctly? Are you getting any sound out of it?

Yeh I'm getting sounds and the sounds change when I select a new preset, I've installed everything correctly... it all shows up in the browser as it should.
Can I send you an email with a jpg to show the GUI?
Thanks
Craig.

Hey guys
Any Mac user that is having trouble...take note:
When you downloaded all the sitx files, be sure to put them into a folder together before you extract the first file. I noticed that if you just say downloaded them to your desktop and tried to install from there it may not extract your files properly.
Then be sure to follow the instuctions in the email as to placing the extracted files in the location you want. (The email explains what folder to move.) But basically make sure you have not just moved the ManyBass folder...the instructions say:
Open the "MBSoundSet.part01" folder and you should see a folder called "MBSoundSet".
This folder contains the sample library of ManyBass.
Move this folder where appropriate for your system (your samples hard drive for example)
(We should have specified to move the whole MBSoundset folder...maybe some of you just took the ManyBass folder???)
Then when you open ManyBass and it asks you to point to your sounds folder, be sure to point it at:
MBSoundset folder not the ManyBass folder.
Can you 2 guys check this out?
I am pretty sure we just have an improper path going here on your guys system as we do have Mac users who are 100% working.
Thanks
Paul
