I don't mind the idea of a navigator as long as its optional, but I prefer a really good marker system myself.

There is no visual feedback when dragging and dropping i.e. no indication that you are dragging something, no cursor change, no item is picked up (at least XT1 did this) and worse there is still no indication that you are over a target where you can drop it. Makes drag and drop all but frustrating IMHO.
I find myself asking the same questions every time I do something and jumping through trail and error loops far too often as there's no indication on screen...
Can I drag a synth preset? fxp? fxb? From the browser? From a Windows Explorer window? Where do/can I drop it again? On the plugin/synth GUI? On the title bar of the plugin/synth window? On the program menu bar under the title bar? -- That would seem logical but doesn't work for the synth xts files but does for fxb files and vice versa - huh? Does it do that for fxp files? Can't tell... Give up... Arrrrgggghhh! Not an intuitive or inspiring process!
And that's just synth/plugin presets.

the navigator is a so huge functionnality to implement, in both pixel height size and probably in jorgen time, that i think it will better to just fix the scrollbar first...
as good the idea is...

i prefer linear beahviour than circular knob behaviour on dials. its the only thing that annoys me so far. the option to switch to linear is allready on th FR list.....i just hope is high up on the list.

The only thing I keep doing is when you select a track in the sequencer you just clicked
on it but now there are so many items when minimized so you end up openining an instrument
or hitting a "dead" space or something...

- the Browser is too narrow for me, every time I have to widen it to read the file names; a Preference to set the default width would be good.

- a horizontal scroll bar for browser

I like this idea. It would be even a little better if the space where the scroll bar is would have a tiny zoomed out view of the whole project so you know where you are going.le_NEKO wrote:i made a little draw to explain how i think it would logically work :
fullsize
i understand that it could give problem when wanting to go after the end but it just need to add something like 8 bars (or more) to the rightest element of the project as the reference for the whole project size.

A small thing but would help me a lot.
I do a lot of small tests and don't do too much saving.
-Press "N" to not save when closing. I'm just soooo used to it I still do it after weeks of playing.

Typing values
I dislike that if a value box is open for typing, I can't click somewhere else with the mouse to make it a slider again
dragging stuff
I would like to see a see-through box when dragging parts/clips/notes/vsts/samples/etc. in the shape/size of what I would get if I let go.

Hi, a few suggestions (but I tested the windows version with linux, with windows vsts, just to be fair '
'
the virtual keyboard gets covered by the editing window of the synth I edit,
so testing each change is problematic, over and over...minihost has both the virtual keyboard and mouse always active, and nothing is blocked, easiest preset testing anywhere, but that should be here too?
a 'load demo' menu option with a default empty sequencer would have been more fun than trolling the setup area for options to avoid the demo (glad they are there!)
The left side of the gui is always used and ruled by a list that is either too narrow to show full path/program names when expanded, or wasting space when it isn't: I would like access to a basic system requestor,
and put those initial items in a menu, instead of a static list that uses up screen space when a larger virtual keyboard(s) is needed
I would like to be able to rightclick-select-delete a vst without having to switch to the 'comps' area,
too much clicking going on here...
I would redo the comps area...wires to close to each other, it all looks crooked, a snap-to-grid option or rackmount metaphor would be less stressful, and there is lots of space to use...being able to save projects as racks, and have the output of any one rack be available at the input of any another rack (project)? (assuming your sampler was saved in the rack/project)
I would like a visual cue when I drag a synth into the midi area, that something is going on...my crystal folder has 300 megs of soundfonts, takes ages to be parsed or whatever before it shows up in the midi area...
maybe have eXT2 not vanish into thin air, when I load KarmaFX_Core_Synth? oops '' veared off-topic there...ahem
how about filling that space at the top, to the right of the transport buttons with a default drum machine to jam with? as long as its empty, and you have a drum machine already...(killer feature, that! Fun sells!!!) (instead of a DAW, i got stuck with a DUH ...darned-ugly-hardware, but drums are always right there!and its fun ':hihi:' )
and three or more virtual keyboards active at once, one for playing an arpeggio
or trigger a loop or sequence, one a pad, and one a lead...(easy in vanilla linux with 3 vkeybd instances, each
jacked to vsts in Discodsp highlife!) or zynaddsubfx, hexter, whysynth, bristol, rtsynth, amsynth, qsampler, fluidsynth...laptop players on the road would love it
with the option to split the qwerty keyboard into separate active rows, and over-ride keyboard shortcuts
Well, I admit to downloading the manual...I think maybe I should read it, too
getting a lazy whiner vibe going, looking at my list...good thing I'm a slow typer, already forgot most of the important stuff '

I have an FR, although i dont know if this is the right post.
Fairly simple FR - Fullscreen Mode.
Might not sound like much but why not have a fullscreen mode that cuts off the toolbar (file, options, etc) which becomes a drop down tool bar. Then just stretch ext2 to full screen.
Maybe even have the whole object bar/strip as a drop down/hide-able option. Now for people with large monitors this might not make much of a difference - but i work on a laptop and every little bit of screen space is usefull.
To me the toolbar at the top isnt that important - i mean keyboard shortcuts can be used for the transport, render, etc
In fact in full screenmode you could just move everything to the right of the 'part colour' - theres loads of space not being used there, even more-so when the browser isnt showing. Transport, seq/comp/mixer, undo/redo, click etc could all be moved to that space.
i.e

i'd also like to see this - or maybe even a small X to the right of the vst name in line with the midi-indicator to delete vsti's with 1 click.I would like to be able to rightclick-select-delete a vst without having to switch to the 'comps' area,
too much clicking going on here...

Woj, if you set you taskbar to autohide then XT2 opens full-screen...
