I'll check the lane crash agin and update when on cpu (on phone now).

Post

 Right you are. Works great! 8)

Post

is this a known bug? moving slices in a rex2 file will cause a crash, same with xtc's,......probably another pointless observation,

cheers,
john

the bugs - new ones are popping up by the minute - and most nasty ones at that - I just can't take it anymore!

Post

Jens,

Do you have a list of reproducable bugs you want me to add?

PS can you help me confirm teh Linux ones?

Post

i have some you can add, if you're in the mood:

- drag a loop locator outside the window so that the sequencer starts scrolling, then let go, and it will keep scrolling by itself.

- automating a volume fader from within a part doesn't move the fader fast enough to affect the beginning of the part. try this and listen:

- event list "time" column is messed up if you scroll down. this is for both audio and midi parts.
normal:

scrolled down:

- you can route midi to a send and change it into an insert and the midi will still be routed to it, but the routing is lost when you save and re-open the project.

- when a midi track is routed to a Send, Audio In, or Audio Out, the mixer strip in the sequencer is a normal one rather than the one that shows in the mixer, i.e. it shouldn't have a send bin. you can even send sends to other sends or use sends on the Audio In if you do this.

- Resizing a ghost drum part from the left causes notes to be entered in the wrong place horizontally.

confirmed
JL10 - Window will continue to scroll if dragging a loop locator outside window.

I get a small click but nothing too bad.
JL10- Volume is automation a ms or two late at begingin of clips. Creates click.

Confirmed.
JL10- Envent list with change displayed times when scrolling the list.

Wow! that is really cool that it kind of works. If you move it back from insert to send, the automation doesn't work again. Too bad. It would be really cool if the automation followed the plugin.
I'm going to chalk this one up to an existing issue that the automation for mixer plugins is dead once you m ove them.
That really destroys my sound design flow. When that issue is addressed let's take another look at this one. ;)

Yes, you can rout, but it doesn't do anything right?
JL10- Sequencer mixer strip for tracks routed to sends show sends. (but send to send functionality not working and not shown in whole mixer)
- Resizing a ghost drum part from the left causes notes to be entered in the wrong place horizontally.
I think I got this one will check again.

i guess it's similar to that, but this is plain midi routing, not controller mapping. and in this case, it you can move it around and it still works until you reload the project. this was my method to send midi notes directly to inserts, until i found that the routing isn't saved in the project. anyway, i won't forget about it.

send to send works depending on the order of the sends. i think the signal can only go down.

will do as soon as I have figured it all out - so far they appear 'random'

PS can you help me confirm teh Linux ones?

sorry. but no Linux anymore right now...

(not since I reinstalled XP and it overwrote Grub (bootmanager) - don't really miss it either)

Post

i have a working Ubuntu installation. and i'm not going to give it up, after all the work it took to get it working well... i'd say the same about XP though. anyway, i'll try to remember to test the linux-specific issues too.

ok, writing this from ubuntu 7.04 with realtime kernel and fluxbox.
*J15- In LINUX, along with non ext3 filesystems, "ntfs" file systems mounted as "read/write" dont work either.
confirmed. you can only get to the root of an ntfs-3g drive, no subfolders. and any filesystem other than ext3fs may not be displayed in alphabetical order.
nothing listed here has been a problem for me. i can use audio inputs and CCs from a midi controller. i'm not using kubuntu though, so it could be that or any number of other variables.
*J15- On Linux samples are shown in track and drum sampler with full path (in synthesizer too).
confirmed. very annoying. only applies to presets saved in the Windows version, i believe. stuff saved in linux also displays the path when loaded in Windows.

OK just updated the 1st and last as still there and left the kubuntu issues as needing retest.

v2.01 crashes instantly when I drag Amplitube2 or AT2JH onto the interface. Seems ok with other IK plugs (e.g. CSR).
