DirectWave - OK to uninstall FL Download manager?

It should be ok at this time, as long as you don't use the online sample selector at all.
Note that it may be necessary for other functions in future versions.

Yeah, I tried using it last night and it crashed and locked itself and Cubase Studio 4 up twice.
What functions would it be necessary for? (Please note that the IL Downloader requires me to connect to your server and that makes it a possible security issue.)

I don't know off the top of my head how it's used in DirectWave exactly. In theory it's only loaded when you use the download selector and it shouldn't crash if it's not there.
However, it definitely won't connect to our servers if you don't use the selector, so having it on your system doesn't pose a security issue as far as I can tell.

I think you might want to to re-label that part of the DirectWave faceplate "Samplefusion Download" and the menu "Download Preset".
