it had been so long since i used the ez that it seems i may have forgotten all about it.

my version says its 1.08 and there is a drop down for tuning mode. however, the dropdown has nothing listed in it. how can i adjust the tuning then? looking around, i cant find any additional functions or instructions for that. i guess the same question would apply to the string velocity dropdown. i dont see a way to program that either.

dude, i bought my ez eg, and it is factory refurbished. it has all kinds of tuning modes on it...drop d open d open g open e, and like abunch of others... is that what you are talking about...?

Hi Ugo,
I sent you 1.08 which allows not only per string tuning but let you tune each open string and each fret to your will.
That was fev 17 this year at 18:36 CET.
Then you should have received another one the same day at 20:20 (CET), small fix.
On fev 20, 10:42 CET, I sent you 1.08c, which had another fix.

Sorry that I didn't send you a reminder until I received a thank you or at least some acknowledgment.

thanks for letting me know the date marc. i have figured out where i went wrong...and in how many ways.

1.) in february, i installed 1.08c without all the other files that came with 1.08.
2.) i probably only went as far as to test that i had connectivity between the ez, suite, and cubase, and didnt test the rest of the functions (which would have let me know i forgot to install files.)
3.) i had not used the ez-ag since then, so eventually i forgot i even had the latest version.
4.) im clearly not the most observant fellow today either, because i actually booted 1.08 when i used the ez this afternoon, not even noticing that the new features were at the bottom of the screen. (though empty due to my not having properly installed everything back in feb.)

in short...im a dumbass.

but i have now gone back, found the emails and files, and installed everything properly. so im still a dumbass, but one with access to alternate tunings now.

How do I download or buy the ez suite? I know you can join the Yahoo group, but my membership is still pending. I am willing to pay for it if possible.

I finally found and bought a used EZ-EG and I'm really happy with what I can do with it so far, but I want to extend it's capabilities besides being a guitar and a midi controller. I've already tried the TenCrazy EZ-Guitar Environment v2.21. What I really want to do is to create a converter software for midi files to ez-*g XF midi and have the EZ-*G light up based on the track currently selected (e.g. through the sound select button).

My first thought was to program an app that can graphically display the frets pressed and strings picked while a guitar midi song is playing. The other views for the app is to display a real time tablature and song sheet while the midi file is playing. The EZ-*AG makes it even better if it can light up while playing a midi song. No software UI needed...just the ez-*g lights. There will be a rules engine to determine the appropriate fingering for the frets.

I'm a Java programmer and have been wanting to get something like this done. I just need to figure out how to make my EZ-EG light up with a custom midi file. If you guys know any information that will help just let me know.

Do you guys know where I can find it. My ez-eg is second hand so I'm not sure if I have everything including the flyer. Can anyone spare their flyer so that I can download the other 10 songs?

I don't have a flyer. I downloaded some non sysex-no buttons lighting up midi songs for it.

Its not regularly available anywhere anymore
as its no longer being produced. Some retailers
may have some left in stock but they'll be gone
soon.

I actually got the 10 free songs for my ez-eg by contacting yamaha support by email explaining that I can't find my flyer. They were great. I gave them my ez-eg serial # with my request. Thanks for the help.

By the way, using MIDI-OX I was able to send sysex data to the ez-eg and it was able to light up the frets individually. This is probably something already supported by scripts like ez_suite??? I think it is possible to create a midi to xfmidi converter with the ez-*g sysex data to light up the correct frets.

When I have more time, I'll see if this something that can be used with software like Guitar Pro 4/5 together with MIDI-OX.

I don't think any script lights up the frets.

I would be cool to do a lightshow, like the g string lights going up and down constantly. I never use the built in songs....
