Where are all the high quality historical archives? Are they online.. made available to the public?
I would have thought so now seeing as we have flac and other lossless compression codecs..
I want NASA recordings, Bush speeches, Radio and Tv news excerpts.. stuff like that.. Is this stuff public domain?? Surely it is, no?
Who owns the right to these historical recordings.
All there seems to be is crappy 8 bit fizzy files.
I know a few speeches are on archive.org any other places?
Hmm..

I'd be interested in that, too.
Have you seen this:
http://www.americanrhetoric.com/top100speechesall.html
mp3 only - can't judge the qualkityas I'm at work right now.
There seems to be more, check out http://www.americanrhetoric.com at first.

Bush? Ho is he
Isn't Roosevelt now president of the United States
(was better for poorer people, I can tell ya...)
WAX CYLINDER PRESERVATION PROJECT is a website containing really old materials, songs and stuff too, but historical speeches and more is there also...I listened to Roosevelt and more there, searched Eleonore Duse but well, she's not there....definitely worth a look!! Shamann told me about months ago, and there is even a kind of radio. Donations are welcome as I hear from people who download a lot.
