Hi,
We are going to revamp the downloadable soundz section and I would like to know what new formats you would like us to add? Please give us your feedback and we will take it in account in the next esoundz release.
Your comments are welcome...

Dimension/LE/DimPro (sfz) isn't on the list above. I know there's a "world of Dimension", but - relatively speaking - I didn't notice any sfz-format downloadable instruments. Most were in Sampletank format, and ST2 can't be converted to sfz.

I "need" multiple choices:
ST2, Wusik 3/4, HALion 2
ST2, Wusik 3/4, HALion 2

I would also be interested in wusikstation sounds. I voted for kontakt, but I'm also interested in wusik.

Ok I take note, I didn't known that Wusik was so much popular. And what about EXS and Giga are they dead formats?

Giga2 and Kontakt1 are still some of the most "universal" formats out there. I don't know about EXS - it's kinda dead on Windows.

Another vote for Wusik format. Is that the "Wusi" option on the poll?

Funny: I never think of Wusik as a sampler; I can't imagine using it as one. It doesn't look like it'd be easy to use for quick editing...

Wusik and DimPro both seem to straddle the line between "sampler" and "synth".bduffy wrote:Funny: I never think of Wusik as a sampler; I can't imagine using it as one. It doesn't look like it'd be easy to use for quick editing...
The biggest reason I keep K2 (besides its library, which is good) is for third-party content that's too big to work in a non-streaming player. IIRC Sampletank format is RAM-based, so those samples are a good candidate for release in sfz format as well.
Dimension LE is now an affordable option, and the upgrade price from DimLE to DimPro is equal to buying DimPro outright.
It appears the newest K2 release (2.23 - not sure about in 2.21) will read DimPro's sfz format.

Yeah, I guess I just don't see much of a working space for editing on either of those two - I think there is an editing app for Wusik that I'm missing; really, it's just a synth to me, and I occasionally buy from the few who program libraries for it.dougsyo wrote:Wusik and DimPro both seem to straddle the line between "sampler" and "synth".bduffy wrote:Funny: I never think of Wusik as a sampler; I can't imagine using it as one. I stick with Kontakt because I still find it the most straightforward-yet-powerful interface for working with samples, and of course, the features are getting quite outstanding at this point. However, it's a bit of a Leviathin now.

For downloadable sounds, I prefer Sampletank, because I find the ST-engine very convenient.

Kontact seems to be the most popular sampler... that's interesting. I thought that Gigastudio was stronger.
