honestly why do people debate the sound quality of a host?

Well - pan laws are one thing - but is it possible that some hosts have tiny EQ cutting thingy going on which cuts at 250HZ and at other critical freqs a bit so it automatically sounds better to you or they add tiny boost to some freqs that make it sounds "better".
How about mixing engine - i think that audioengine is mixing things together and in mixing engine there could be differences. So far i can tell that there's not many differences between my tested audio files but the more sounds i use the more differences i hear.
My bottom line anyhow is that there shouldn't be any host that can't produce TOP-NOTCH music.

Now this is exactly the kind of unsubstancied bullshit that makes my blood boil. This is the reason why sometimes i loose my temper and start questioning the sanity of those makes those claims. Not pretty i know but i'm only human.deep'n'dark wrote:Well - pan laws are one thing - but is it possible that some hosts have tiny EQ cutting thingy going on which cuts at 250HZ and at other critical freqs a bit so it automatically sounds better to you or they add tiny boost to some freqs that make it sounds "better".
First of all there's no such thing as a universal eq setting that'll make everything sound better. And why on earth would someone implement something like that without telling anyone ? I sure as hell would like to know if they mess with my audio.
And it is so easy to chack if that's really the case and for the hundredth time: we've done it and there's no difference.
Yeah, there's just so many different ways you can add stuff together. Like add them and..........what ?How about mixing engine - i think that audioengine is mixing things together and in mixing engine there could be differences. So far i can tell that there's not many differences between my tested audio files but the more sounds i use the more differences i hear.
That mythical "summingengine" is just that. A bunch of additions. Funny how they can program a fully functioning host and then mess up something like a couple of additions.Addition isn't exactly rocket science. Again:we tested this and there's no difference
How bloody hard is that to get ?

don't get uppset now, ive made tests and there's differences between audio files. also i notice that some sound sounds very phat that i need to cut it down to fit my mix while in Reason as example i never get too much low end out of the same patch and if you are daw maker i believe you 100% but i believe that you are just ordinary user having an opinion. Trust me i believe that there's something changed between reason 3 and 4 related to the sound and i'm not gonna argue about it cos it's pointless, and my tests i've done prove me that there's tiny differences between host's sound. So why should i not believe what i believe.jupiter8 wrote:Now this is exactly the kind of unsubstancied bullshit that makes my blood boil. Well duhhh. We're discussing DAWs here. You know programs that can playback audiofiles (and no,a sampler does'nt count).deep'n'dark wrote:don't get uppset now, ive made tests and there's differences between audio files. also i notice that some sound sounds very phat that i need to cut it down to fit my mix while in Reason as example i never get too much low end out of the same patch and if you are daw maker i believe you 100% but i believe that you are just ordinary user having an opinion. Discussing the sound of Reason is just pointless as it is the sound of the synths/samplers you discuss not the soundquality of the app itself. For all we know they could have changed the code in the synths/samplers between each revision but that's not what were disussing here.

You can believe what you like. But like a kiddie in the playground screaming one plus one equals five, you shouldn't expect to be taken seriously. Unlike that kiddie, though, you don't have the excuse of being a child.deep'n'dark wrote:don't get uppset now, ive made tests and there's differences between audio files. also i notice that some sound sounds very phat that i need to cut it down to fit my mix while in Reason as example i never get too much low end out of the same patch and if you are daw maker i believe you 100% but i believe that you are just ordinary user having an opinion. I was hoping this thread would be a simple statement by all to put rest to the summing debate. great idea.
but then the idiots start to come out of the woodwork. again.
looks like you guys have made it all the way to pan laws. ride on!

It's nothing to do with word against word, we've all made the tests. I've been involved in at least four threads which have ended in nulling tests on kvr. Without exception the've shown no differences above any conceivable noise floor.deep'n'dark wrote:word against word - nothing else - like i said i've made tests and that's only reason why i believe what i believe.nuffink wrote:The only bullshit I posted was copied and pasted from your last post.deep'n'dark wrote:yeah keep posting bullshit.
If you've made such tests and proven otherwise, paste the results.

He's still just comparing two versions of Reason against eachother. I fail to see what that has to do with this discussion.nuffink wrote:It's nothing to do with word against word, we've all made the tests.
