It's ALL Zebra2 (!) including the "acoustic" drums - Mike Kastrup is a monster emulation-programmer. I reckon we'll be seeing a few more Zebra2 talents appearing on the horizon soon...if and when they realize how powerful this program really is.
I like that. Great music, great sounds.

Vember Audio Surge, Fabfilter Twin (and one), Arturia Synths, Native Instruments Absynth, and the Gmedia offerings have always impressed me as having very good sound quality, better than most hardware synths I have owned. None are particularly "virus like", though I would classify Surge as very nord/waldorf like.

At that time Sytrus didn't have its own phaser btw, so here's another test (with an added Maximus):I think Gol/tonytony chopper

Yeah, I had mailed fuzz about it a few months ago and he said he'd check it out at the end of May. I emailed him again a few weeks back to see if he had a chance to check it out but I haven't got a response just yet unfortunately.D-Fusion wrote:I also hope it will be fixed soon since this video made me download Oatmeal again and it really sound s great.soundpalace wrote:Some cool stuff being linked above indeed, I love the Oatmeal vid too! If Sylenth isn't rocking your world, I suggest you upgrade your Audio interface. Man that VSTi sings. I've owned a Virus C and a ton of synths threw the years and I'd put Sylenth 1 up against the best of them.
Also, I do love the Korg Legacy stuff too. Perhaps I'll upgrade to their latest.

I just picked up a Virus Indigo 2 off ebay and I've got to say it does have a pretty unique sound compared to VSTi's that I've played around with. It is it's own sound, and if you really want that sound just save up and buy one. I got a bit worried - the day after the Virus was won on ebay I tried out Sylenth and thought "shit, why did I just buy the virus, this sounds amazing". But now I've used it I realise that they're both different even if they're "good" at doing similar sounds. They're just good at those sounds in different ways.
So lets settle this pissing contest - I challenge you to get the virus to sound as nasty as a basic 2osc synth made with SynthEdit v0.01!

I always wanted one of those instead of my C. Best looking synth ever IMO.Afro88 wrote:I just picked up a Virus Indigo 2 off ebay...

ok just listened to the sylenth and then listened to this virus arp, the virus is fat, punchy, warm and inspiring and has a detail and depth to the sound that the sylenth does not have, although i still like the sylenth the virus has stolen my heart.
My suggestion is get yourself a powercore then buy the virus powercore.

Just thought I'd add this here too from the Zebra / Virus challenge thread. Tell me what you think...
The original is damn hard to reproduce to say the least (makes me want a Virus even more!)...

P.S.: Sorry I uploaded a WAV, I'll compress to MP3 next time
