Yes, to some degree. But the point I was trying to make is that most people who complain about the quality of certain DAWs wouldn't be able to make good music anyway, even in a studio filled to the rim with top-notch analogue gear and the latest & greatest Pro Tools. That's all okay in and of itself, since by far the most people on here are mere amateurs, like me. But it makes all these discussions about what DAW is better kinda moot :hihi:

not that this proves anything, but I just rendered silence in energyXT 1.4 and it was actually silence. Audacity's normalization effect couldn't do anything. Has there been a test of this sort where people've rendered silence from lots of hosts and compared?

I'm yet to find a host that comes up with anything when silent output is normalized.
