ive stumped myself with this one.
With abletons Sampler or Kontakt How do you have one sample be cutoff (the release) as soon as another one is triggered from a different note.
Example open highhat sample on C#1 needs to stop when closed hat is triggered on C1.
Get the idea?
I find it hard to believe that lives sampler cant do this. I have to be missing something.
By the way setting up the samples on the same note with different velocity's wont work. Im triggering this from a D5, each drum is a different note, and i have multisamples for both the open and closed hat. Dedicated drum samplers solve this by having choke groups.
What am i missing? Can it just not be done? How is this done with hardware samplers?

Some samplers have a special function for that particular case. In other you just assign them to the same voice group or whatever it's called in your sampler of choice and set the poly to 1 voice. Dead simple. At least in all samplers i've worked with which includes Kontakt but excludes Live's sampler.
