Woj- I like the way you organized the space above the object bar. Much cleaner and looks more purposeful.
Perhaps if the placement of items became part of the skin....
Could you cross post it over here:

Argh, just saw this. This is needed so badly! From the days of xt1 I have been in a life or death struggle with the damn scrollbar everytime I work on something beyond a few bars...soma wrote:I like this idea. It would be even a little better if the space where the scroll bar is would have a tiny zoomed out view of the whole project so you know where you are going.le_NEKO wrote:i made a little draw to explain how i think it would logically work :
fullsize
i understand that it could give problem when wanting to go after the end but it just need to add something like 8 bars (or more) to the rightest element of the project as the reference for the whole project size.

And this! I was trying to figure out how long my track was yesterday, and had to multiply bars by time to get it (luckily I was at 120bpm...) This is really important, can't believe it's not in there yet.AllenPOPO wrote:one question from me: oh when oh when are we getting a time/bars display? this is killing me now that i am working on some fuller more complete stuff with XT2...

It's not really a full-screen app. Full screen doesn't just mean hide the toolbar. It also means, no title bar, border, or sizing icons on the main window of the app.jens wrote:Woj, if you set you taskbar to autohide then XT2 opens full-screen...
If we are talking about XT2/Linux I'm hoping the window manager gets to direct this stuff.
Windows is dying soon anyway so who cares about that?

the scroll bar at the bottom of the sequencer? i've noticed that if you click in front of it and keep the mouse button pressed it scrolls and it's less frustrating than trying to drag the bar,
and do the same to bring it back, actually when you click behind it to rewind,it goes quite fast, but its still not the answer to the problem,
john,

If jorgen doesn't implement Fitt's law, i'll have a fit!
hah.
So yeah, make it so that when you toss your mousepointer all the way to the top right, clicking close the app.

It seems tricial, but I think this is the single thing that annoys me most about XT2.jens wrote:- the loop-locators don't snap according to the sequencer's snap-settings
For it to be really optimal, I think you'd need to have a seperate snap value for note entry and timeline editing, though. So you can drag bars around without worrying about them being a semiquaver out, and then go straight back to editing your drum track...
Also, the way that adding a new clip by double clicking in an empty space in the part gives you a clip the length of the loop is driving me nuts. Having a dropdown menu for 'default clip length' allowing 'loop lenth' or 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 would be much nicer.
Oh, I'd been wondering about that. +1, for sure.- rendering to a new track isn't part of the rendering function
It'd be quite nice to be able to render clips by right clicking on them, too. Likewise being able to get at the CC maps / midi learn from the plugin GUI window as well as from the midi learn window would seem to make sense. In general, it seems sensible that if I want to perform [action] on [object], I should be able to do it by looking at [object] and saying perform [action] on this as well as by looking at the [action] window and then deciding which [object] I want it performed on.
It's a rave, Lewis!

i agree, and throwing the mouse to the right edge of the screen should land you on the vertical scrollbar.Mighty Pea wrote:If jorgen doesn't implement Fitt's law, i'll have a fit!

so maximizing the window should make it 3 pixels bigger than the screen on all sides, and the close button should extend to the corner of the maximized area.
wrongtastic, baby

Another thing: clicking a button and releasing it while no longer over the button usually doesn't do anything (which is good), but it does in xt2

I'd like to see ctrl-tab move between err... tabs, and tab move between open windows. Also, shift-ctrl-tab and shift-tab to move in the other direction. This seems to be general behaviour (windows, firefox, some linux-distros i've tried...)
Right now when you press shift-control-tab, it just cycles in the standard direction. alternating control-tab and shift-control-tab makes it easy to switch between two plugins, especially when they fill the entire screen, and therefor overlap eachother completely.

*Bump*
Looks like this is the area Jorgen is focusing on currently.
