What's the most easy and economical way if I wanted to get a much more realistic grand piano sound from the EZ-AG? I find the built in piano sound there not too convincing. Thanks again!!

1) Some clever chap might be able to open up the EZ and physically solder a connector to plug in a pedal to act in place of the buttons. Such a chap would have to be much more clever (or brave) than myself to do so!
2) Look into freeware SoundFont2 players, such as the wonderful "sfz". Then look for free SF2 files, such as the aptly named "Splendid Grand".

Hehe, you don't put the sounds 'in' the guitar.
You use the guitar as a controller. As in you load up the soundfont in a relevant app like sfz+ and then send controller notes from the yamaha into the computer via a midi cable.
You see?

Hey,
ok this a newbie post... i don't know anything about anything.
I just want to do two things with my new ez-ag guitar...
I want on my mac computer (macbook pro) to control every virtual instrument in garageband and guitarpro... i know it's possible to use my ez-ag as a simple midi controller in this two program, i just don't know how...
And i want a really simple way to connect my ez-ag to windows xp and to use it to play some other sound... (like playing drums with it or do some cool stuff like here : http://www.andras-shimon.com/) i have midi-ox and YEZge but i am just lost... i need a tutorial or something...
By the way i connect my guitar to my computer with a yamaha ux16
I know all this can sound really stupid but i am good at guitar, not at computer...
Last thing... i am french so sorry for my bad english
Thank you

Unfortunately, you cannot load new sounds directly on the guitar. You will have to play it through the PC via the MIDI Out port on the EZ.G4G3 wrote:Can I play "LIVE" then? Will the piano sound come out of the guitar speaker? Thks.
Unfortunately, this would mean that you'd at least need a laptop to play live! (or your whole PC, if you can bring it)

Well, there are no script solutions for Mac currently, so you're stuck with just plugging in through a MIDI port and using it as an input in Garage Band, etc.gaspard7733 wrote:I want on my mac computer (macbook pro) to control every virtual instrument in garageband and guitarpro... i know it's possible to use my ez-ag as a simple midi controller in this two program, i just don't know how...
(And no, I haven't a clue how to do this in Mac-land!)
I have no time to describe how to do this (I am moving 1000 miles away in two weeks!), but perhaps someone else here might help. Otherwise, you could probably go to the MIDI-OX forums to ask how to configure MIDI-OX for use in your sequencer. After that, it would be easy to use one of the script solutions. And i want a really simple way to connect my ez-ag to windows xp and to use it to play some other sound... I don't have garageband for the moment, i am in singapour for some days so i am stuck with xp... and acid
And i don't find any solution...
I can't wait to play drums an saxophone with my ez-ag
By the way thanks for your help.

So i wait until i find a way to control the virtual instrument with acid and sfz...
If anybody can send me a working configuration for midiox (if i have to use that) i take it
(for garageband i see later...)

I leave singapour tomorow and at least i want to be sure my ux16 working... is there a way to do that ?
thanks again and sorry for all this post...

In MIDI-OX, use the menu item: "Options|MIDI Devices..."gaspard7733 wrote:I leave singapour tomorow and at least i want to be sure my ux16 working... is there a way to do that ?
In the "MIDI Inputs:" box, click the name of the UX16 port to make sure it's hilighted. (If it's not there, then the port hardware driver is not installed correctly: reinstall the driver software.)
Click "OK".
Back in the MIDI-OX main window, use the menu item: "View|Input Monitor..."
A "Monitor - Input" window should pop up.
Now when you play the EZ, you should see MIDI data appear in the Monitor window!
Otherwise, check all the connections. You should be using the "MIDI Out" port on the EZ, and the "MIDI In" port on the UX16.
Good luck!

Midiox won't do anything, you need midiyoke.
1.download midiyoke, install it.
2.you use the yamaha midi to usb cable i think, so install that driver
3.if you use an hta script, load it, for input choose your yamaha midi to usb driver thing and then for midi output in the script choose midiyoke 1
4.in acid(or savihost, any host at all)choose midiyoke 1 for midi input
5.thats it. if you use the stock soundcard, download asio4all until you have a need for pro equipment.
