Again I may seem lame, but one of the people I know got her hands on DX7, and I wanted to know if there is possibility to export its settings to a hard drive.
All these moments will be lost in time like tears in rain...

Yes, it's called "MIDI System Exclusive". Check your manual, you should either be able to initiate a bulk dump from the DX7, or get your computer to ask it to dump it's contents.
You'll need it MIDI'd up to your computer, and some appropriate sysex software to record and save the sysex data.
