Can anyone recommend a good sampled bass guitar library? I've got Spectrasonics Trilogy but I'm finding myself quite over it lately, need something new and a lil more flexible...

A mate of mine has East West Hardcore Bass but I don't really like the sound of it, it's a lil too rock-oriented, I'm after something more mellow, with a funk/hiphop kind of vibe if you know what I mean, so that if I want to 'rock' it up I can use guitar rig or something similar...

Any help would be appreciated :)

You're in luck, ManyBass is a recently-released bass guitar (and synth bass as well) VSTi. 2.4 GB of 24-bit samples, keyswitching for various articulations, amp/cab simulation, bass-specific presets, and a preset bank with instantly usable bass tones. There are also presets which are modelled after great bassists as well. Check it out at: http://www.manytone.com

I'd recommend Scarbee, but Chris Hein has also a good bass library...

Just adding to what I said about ManyBass... unlike other bass products out there, you get many different bass tones suitable for different types of music. We also have some free content in the works for existing customers.

Do any of the soundsets in ManyBass go to a low C? (I plan on buying it, anyway. I was just curious.)
Buy my cd here (Prog rock/synth pop/classical/soundtrack-ish music):

They (all the soundsets) actually go even further--to a low B. ;)

Can the amp models of ManyBass be used with other sounds?

I still get a lot of mileage from my Akai Will Lee Bass Library as well as Bass Legends.

ManyBass will load all Wusik format soundsets and Dash soundsets. Also we have a free mapper available to all customers that will allow you to easily use your own wave files and samples in ManyBass. But, ManyBass does not load as a VST effect so you cannot run your other synths through it. Once you have your own samples mapped for ManyBass they can run through the Amps and FX etc.

Paul,

this is great. I have the ManyBass and while I am very very happy with the sounds themselves I sometimes would like to have slightly more velocity layers, so loading other bass samples might be worth a try.

Where can I find the mapper?
