Oh, I fogot to add "with pathetically way too much time on his hands" after "anal retentive hobbyst."

:hihi:
Thank God someone agrees with me! My BF has both videos and luckily he hasn't played them yet this week

Yeah, the music is endlessly repetitive crap... Hey, I can put all sorts of fancy eye candy/deorations on a turd, too... but at the end of the day, it's still a big steaming turd.

Computers and music documentary form the mid-eighties

Don't know if this has already been submitted but I thought it was an interesting insight (I'd have only been a school boy at the time.) The old codger from the musicians union going on about 'curbing' the use of synthersizers was hilarious! (so was his big green telephone!)

And matey playing the DX7 near the end got his facts completely wrong about the origins of FM synthesis, which we all know was American not Japanese!

Some of the predictions made by the more 'computer savvy' contributors were pretty accurate however.

And people come on here moaning about how 'limited' their Host/Effect/VST plugin is.... What we need to do is go back to 1985 for a day then we'd all be pining for our oh so limited software before too long...

Oh, yeah, I gotta mention this. 40,000 pounds for a Fairlight!
You can do all that and more and still have change out of £400 pounds today.

Wow! Did you hear the bit about the Prophet? That thing sound amazingly like a Pro-53

And, OMG, Barry Manilow won't be hiring orchestras to pump out aural bilge water because he's using synths! The world is coming to an end

NOTE TO SELF: Remember to always wear sunglasses while in studio.

ETHICS ALERT: Kids, copyright law is much more enthusiastically litigated today. DO NOT sample David Bowie albums (or anyone else's) and use them without permission!
