So I've made a bunch of custom keyboard shortcut apps (personal use) for FL, eXT (SA/VST), Audiomulch, Adobe Audition & Melodyne. I've decided that I'll be releasing them publicly. So which host would you need unlimited & modifier keyboard shortcuts for? Also what features would you like to see (ie. one key drag & drop or preview audio on mouse over).

Customizable key sets can be recorded, played back, saved, tabbed and have a popup legend so you can visualize everything. Modifiers & functions will be able to enhance existing shortcuts!

The apps will be PC only (for now), compatible with XP & Vista..

I've got a few bugs to work out (mainly with pre exisiting shortcuts)..

Let me know if you'd be interested in something like this..

The only one I'm sure will work for Windows hosts is Ctl+Alt+Del

 good one! Also don't forget to request the function you'd like to see in a sc..

I see theres not much interest.. Guys imaging your host has a maticlous process (ie render single track) that could be put into say CTRL + F or some other key combo. This is what my app would do.

i wuld like to see it in fl7 or ext2. I am not sure of what exact funcion, but what you are doing sounds interesting so i would like to see how it comes out.

Funny, these are the 2 apps I started with ;) It all came from the need to be able to switch eXT 1.42 clock sync from internal to external live. In FL I wanted an easier way to render single tracks with slice points (for the corresponding loop only). Those were the catalysts..

Fast forward to today I made the visual feedback of the spectral decay in an analyser semi transparant over a normal transient waveform to give me unparralled accuracy when metering. I could see what I was doing to the audio in a much clearer way and it shaved some time off the process. Stress free for me!:)!!

On top of doing single menu calls you can quickly combine functions to create new & untapped processes!

Yeah it sounds like the shit the rendering with slice points sounds dope. I will be waitin for this.

I almost lost my mind when I started gimping with Melodyne. For one, I was able to make it's already amazing scrub feature into an offline instrument of sorts. All recordable all ready for export to a sampler all done with shortcuts :D!

that sounds amazing, would you be able to do something lke that with a plug-in like guru?

Guru in what host?

Live. After having all three million Logic commands mapped to a keyboard, moving to Live was a bitch.

fl7 ro ext2 those are the 2 i use. Thats what i was gonna say, i guess you would be able to do that with the host right.

Yea I always hated that! My approach allows you to ratchet thru several commands with ONE key and puts them in visual tabs. You can then drag these tasks to lower or higher priority tabs that give hierarchical interaction. I'm also putting a function in that'l keep track of tasking.

Think of it more like doing a 1 button 10-hit super combo in Street fighter and being able to recall it when needed :D..

Should not be a problem what would you like to do? For instance have a continual & average RMS reading pop up over each drum set while its playing so you don't put too much EQ gain to certain frequency? Thats just a tiny thing but it makes a HUGH difference when you bounce down the track with effects! Just one example..

okay, guru has all the graphs and it would be nice to have key commads to go through and if i add values in one place i can easily switch through and copy values to other graphs. It also has rendering in it it would be nice to have key commands to set what i am rendering. With the pattern sequencer add pages with key commands copy paste other engines and patterns. maybe copying values on effects to another effect on different drum hit. Thats off the top of my head. oh there is a randomizer to, if you could click a button to use it insted of moving the slider,or mapping it to a knob.

Post

All sounds doable.. The wizard walks you thru what you'd like to do and sets everything up. To copy the graph value you'd 'mouse over copy' key then 'mouse over paste' to the destination graph. Again with rendering you'd 'mouse over command' what you want to single out. Add pages, one key. Copy paste engine/patterns 'mouse over' one key. Copying values to/from effects the same.

For randomizing , the sliders would use are 2 key combo for up and down. Hold down one of the keys and you get (non & scaling) slide up or down..

That sounds amazing and just what i want. I would love that, and i imagine all guru users would to. I think your onto something with these key commands. It would make everything so much easier.
