Anyone know if the original MOTU 828 is 24 bit?

You can test it's support of 24bits with RightMark Audio Analyser:

I opened Google, used motu 828 as search term. On the first result page there was a link to this press release of the original 828:

http://namm.harmony-central.com/WNAMM01 ... R/828.html

Which says: "8 channels of 24-bit analog in/out - all eight outputs and six of the inputs are on balanced/unbalanced TRS connectors with 24-bit converters."

It's really useful to learn how to seek information on the net yourself, and it isn't all that hard or boring - I found that in about a minute or two while thinking about other things (work) :)

Hey doja -

This is a bit off topic but I really think you should read about some of the problems the new GarageBand is causing Mac users, especially those using Logic Pro. Check around different forums for more details as this is not the right place for me to go on about it.

Thanks Morphex, I read up and will hold off on installing GB 08d until I can decide whether I can live in just GB until the new Logic comes out (I bet I can!)

And z15, do you mean the interwebs? That thing on the computer with all the information in it??? I will have to look into that, I hear it's very informative. Thanks for the tip!

Egg-sacktly :) Sorry for trying to be a bit sarcastic, no harm intended! I just really often find that I can find pretty definitive and trustworthy looking answers to questions people post by doing a little Googling around quickly and... well, you know the old saying, "Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime" :)
