I use to sell seagulls at two different stores and never had issues with tuners...
here it comes
wait for it
almost here

that was a lot of build up for so little payoff
seriously, did the 12 strings stay in tune well? honestly, i haven't changed the strings from the ones that came with it...i bought new ones, but i was thinking of changing the tuners before hand maybe, just hard to determine if it's worth it...i mean, the present tuner look ok, but i just don't know about such stuff...changing them isn't an issue, i just wonder if it would be a waste of money...

it's kind of hard to speak specifically about the 12 strings. One store was a mom and pop chain (4 small stores) that were dealers for seagulls and being so small if we had any 12 strings it would be only one at a time. The other store was a large northeast chain about a quarter of a mile across the New Hamphsire/Mass line in Nashua NH. That store is the easiest and closest for all the Mass border jumpers (NH has no sales tax). We were so busy (especially Saturdays) that out inventory was constantly changing. Also the guitars that stuck around in either store would get played by lots of people...so if a guitar was out of tune I blamed them...but I really don't remember any issues or post sale complaints.

I've never had tuner problems on my s6 folk. It's almost 6 years old, so the tuners might have changed since then.
I did have a low-end Yamaha 12-string that was always going out of tune. Maybe it's a problem with low-cost 12-strings?
