howdy, xolax!
if I understand correctly- you want to drag an audio sample from a live clip into simpler and have the "root" note play back in sync with the tempo of the current live set, regardless of the original tempo of the audio sample.
If that is the case, here is the easiest way to do it:
(for this example, your audio clip is on track 3)
1- feed the input of a Live audio (track 4) with the output of track 3
2- arm record on track 4
3- set global quant to 1 bar
4- trigger the Live "scene" to playback so the audio sample playback from track 3 and the record clip on track 4 trigger simultaneously.
5- hit the scene play button again once you've captured the length sample you want for your simpler. this will stop the recording and start the clip looping playback from track 4
you can now drag this sample from track 4 into your simpler inst and it's "root" key will play in sync- warpped correctly as it is a copy of the clip in track 3.
sounds like a lot of work? It's not. I'm just not good at explaining "eloquently".
it'll take you all of 10 seconds to do this. works like a champ every time

You can also drag the sample to the arrangement view, right click on the clip and choose "consolidate". Once you have done this, when you drag the clip to Simpler it will be in sync with the tempo at middle C.

Yea - I did that, but the problem was that I ended up forgetting this before chopping up my sample into a lot of pieces and it would have to taken forever. That's why I wondered if there was another way.justin3am wrote:You can also drag the sample to the arrangement view, right click on the clip and choose "consolidate".
