I have a small Mbox 2 home studio set up at the moment. This currently consists of:
PC
Mbox2
Korg KONTROL49
Rode NT2-A
Line 6 spider 2 with Pod XT live.
However I have recently bought some new equipment which includes:
Korg Radias
Korg KAOSS pad 3
TC Electronic Fireworx
My small workspace is starting to get abit crowded, untidy, and difficult to work with... so I'm moving it to a bigger area. I would like to set it all up in a way which I can run everything quite easily into the computer, without having to switch cabels around all the time. Would the most practical solution be to buy a mixing desk, run everything desired into that, run the desk into the fireworx, and then run the fireworx to the Mbox2?
Also how would I route the computer back to the mixing desk so I can run softsynths, samples, and so on through the fireworx? Keeping in mind that the Mbox2 only has 2 (left and right) analog audio outputs which are going to my moniters.
Any help would really be appreciated!!!
Koe.

Basically you're screwed with only 2 channel IO. Ditch the Mbox and get something like an M Audio 1010 instead. Then you can have everything connected at once. If you use the right software you can even have the hardware boxes as plugins in your host.
Logic,Cubase and Protools allows for this, probably some other hosts as well.

how would i set it up if i had more IO options? also what about the S/PDIF on the Mbox2? I've never used that before (to be honest, i don't even know what they do).

S/PDIF is a digital connector. As the MBox2 has USB 1.1 connectors i doubt you can use it at the same time as the analog IO giving you 4 IO.
If you had more IO options you just connect all the gear at the same time. I don't understand what you don't get about that. Connect inputs and outputs like you do any gear.

With that much gear a new audio interface would be the best option. I have a 4/6 channel mixer myself. If you get one, make sure it has a send channel. That way you can run the audio through the computer as a send effect or through the main outs. Problem is, all your audio from the hardware comes in as a single channel, which means either multi-tracking it one part at a time, or get the new interface...

How about something like the Digi003 factory? How would I route the instruments through that then through the fireworx?
