Oh yeah, gotta love that funky house bass.
Sounds mostly Authentic (as in real) bass. Something could be synthesized similar with two osc synth, syncing both oscs, 12dB filter with a pretty low cut off, 'some' resonance, maybe some envelope modulation on filter cut off, some chorus.

It's sampled from a real bass. I doubt you will be happy with any synthetic recreation. Best to use a sample library based instrument like Trilogy, or Broomstick Bass. You could also try using some free soundfonts if you are on a budget.

Scarbee's Black Bass might be up to the task as well.

A simple sampled bass OR a synth can do this sound.
On the synth a square wave with the right amount of pulse width, short attack and release envelope and a rather closed lowpass filter.
Can easely be done on synth1.

I totally agree. The first sample can't exactly be reproduced with a synth, especially when it comes to the short, stopped octaved notes.afreshcupofjoe wrote:It's sampled from a real bass. Btw, this is not exactly a house bass but a typical 70s/80s disco thing, adopted by house musicians.
The second sample one is synth bass all over the place.
I actually don't know how someone could ask to do "this amazing bass" and come up with two fundamentally different examples.
And btw, you shouldn't post full songs of other artists as MP3s. If things go wrong, this could get you into trouble.

Gave that disco bass a brief try:

First 4 bars is the original, second 4 bars the original with less volume and my bass mockup on top.
With a better sample library it should sound rather ok-ish (I only used some pretty much easy sampled bass).
