Is EWQLSO Gold happy with a touch of reverb? :d

I'm currently a EWQLSO Silver ProXP user and have been more than happy with it, but the Gold bundle is being priced ridiculously low until the end of August in Europe.
I know that EastWest Orchestra libraries have traditionally had the Dry/Wet of the chamber hall already featured as a part of the sound, but even so it doesn't seem to suffer if you add some delicate reverb as well to make it a bit more expansive.
I'm tempted by the Gold version, but am I right in thinking that its setup is a bit different? i.e., the sounds are made up of close-mic and other mics placed further away?
Or is that just Platinum that does that?

The Gold version is all of the Full(Stage) mics from the Platinum version, but in 16-bit rather than 24-bit. Gold also includes a handful of Close mic files. It does not have the multiple mic mixing capabilities of Platinum though.
So Gold has some ambience built into all of its samples. I find that for best results, you'd still want to add some convolution reverb.

Gold has a big hall sound that's very convincing. Adding extra verb would create a swampy mess.
Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

Reverb tails in Gold are separate samples so they can be velocity controlled. If you turn the volume down on 'REL' group you pretty much get the same as you have in Silver.
There is a bit of ambiance to the regular samples so when mixing with dry libraries I add a bit of reverb to the dry stuff but lop the tails off so it sounds more like the Gold without tails. Then I route everything to a bus with 'verb to taste and it unifies everything. It works pretty well most of the time to these old ears.

Thanks guys. The current promo was 50% off until Aug 30th, so it seemed too good an opportunity to miss. Just checking the comparison list, I never realised how huge Gold is compared to Silver, with plenty of articulations I've been missing.
Also, I wanted to get this before PACE iLok was introduced to the EW range, which is a bit of a no-no for me (both my USB hubs are full as it is).
It'll be interesting to see how these reverb tails sound in practice. I know over-doing extra verb can create a swampy mess, but some convo reverbs used lightly can be effective in expanding the hall a little bit. I'll just have to practice with the new samples and have a good listen.
Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I wouldn't upgrade to Gold for the release tails, though they're convincing, as someone said. I would get it for the chromatic sampling and the extra articulations--in fact, I would suggest the bundle. I can't imagine working without all those articulations.
