Thanks for your reply Nils.
I'm going to buy Black Bass, because I'm really inringued by his playability, but I too vote for an upgrade to Slap and Fingered, I love the sound of this bass!

Good idea - give J S&F extra capabilities by exploit K2.2 scripting and controls. All that would be needed would be a few extra nki/nkm files for K 2.2.Project wrote:Thanks for your reply Nils.

ok, that is about the same system I have so that is good.kotori wrote:For the standard effect preset the cpu usage is normally 1% and sometimes 2% on my computer - an AMD 4400+ with 2GB RAM. For some presets with more effects it can increase by a few percent. It's very efficient. This is the cpu usage reported by Kontakt 2 on the Engine tab. The latest versions of Kontakt 2 are very stable in my experience.hibidy wrote:I asked this on another thread but again my concern is cpu/stability.
I can use the demo of kontakt 2, but how could I guage the black bass samples?

Yeah, is it bad that I want Jaco on my sample machine? A silky fretless with all the programming of BB would be sweet. I want Portrait of Tracy!CWoodOne wrote:I really love Black Bass. I'm hoping Thomas and friends do a fretless bass. Doubtlessly
a programming challenge, but it would be fantastic.

will you use flat-wound stings also for the slapped bass? (I would prefer round-wound)? And I hope you make use of your precision bass when sampling the picked bass.Mr.Scarbee wrote:
I'll might do a picked bass next, but first finger-pick and slap expansion of Black Bass - which is my main axe.

I'd prefer he used the same bass for different articulations - most bassists don't change axe mid-flowAKJ wrote:will you use flat-wound stings also for the slapped bass? (I would prefer round-wound)? And I hope you make use of your precision bass when sampling the picked bass.Mr.Scarbee wrote:

I think the J-Slap'n'Fingered is round-wound, and is now available with the K2 script enhancements.

The Black Bass FingerPick Expansion will be first release - then Black Bass Slap.griels wrote:AKJ wrote:Mr.Scarbee wrote: will you use flat-wound stings also for the slapped bass? (I would prefer round-wound)? And I hope you make use of your precision bass when sampling the picked bass.

It will be all flatwound so it matches sound of Black Bass. You will be surprised how funky the slap sound is...
After this - I think I will do "Sunburst Bass" - based on the p-sound..
I may do this as picked first - to get a completely new sound...
Then fingered and slap..
