i spent 20 years trying to get synths to sound as good as a real electric bass. then i went out and bought a real electric bass (check out the track 'City Calling' on www.myspace.com/leeboydmusic (http://www.myspace.com/leeboydmusic) for my first effort with it). i'll probably never use a synth for bass again. i've won awards for my programming and production, so should have some tips if anyone has any questions...

You can defiantly achieve this with Broomstick Bass. It would be real easy to do.

It's a finger-picked bass guitar. I myself almost only use bass guitars for bass sounds... or sometimes my Chapman Stick. Nothing beats the sound of strings ... and it's fun to play as well.

First 4 bars is the original, second 4 bars the original with less volume and my bass mockup on top.
With a better sample library it should sound rather ok-ish (I only used some pretty much easy sampled bass).
it is near perfect....
