will 2.5 be fully backwards compatible with combis and user presets built in the latest non-2.5 version?
i have been researching and it seems that there is a strong track-record for maximum backwards compatibility but asking to be sure.
thanks.

I am not 100% sure but I think yes. I mean, the combis and child presets. I think the multieffect presets are not. But we'll do new ones. We did some free ones before. So we'll do some new ones for the new effect system.grymmjack wrote:will 2.5 be fully backwards compatible with combis and user presets built in the latest non-2.5 version?

Hey Squids - may this helps?
In Wusikstation VST running in Sonar, I can use the mousewheel to interact with any parameters where that would seem logical, so it doesn't seem like it's excluded from working in Sonar.

Well, again, it is the VST version and the same version that runs in Cubase with it working. So there must be some kind of incompatibility with the VST programming done in ST going on in Sonar. It can probably be fixed BY Cakewalk if they wanted to. Just a guess.blades wrote:Hey Squids - may this helps?

SampleTank 2.5 update is being released this week. I think it might even be today. Check your user area on www.sampletank.com
Enjoy!
By the way, for anyone who is thinking about purchasing SampleTank 2.5 L or XL or the upgrade/crossgrade we will be giving away a free $99 library at www.esoundz.com The info isn't up yet but it will be this week and we'll honor it from September 1st 2007 anyway. That bonus disc will contain some unreleased material on it and will be available for purchase separately for any existing ST customers. It will also include some exclusive combis and multifx patches too! More info to come.

After I go to my users area and download the update, will it automatically update my existing plug-in, or do you have to treat it like a re-install? I've been using 2.0 since 2005, and its been great for me ever since. The main reason I want the update now is for the CSR verb, though the master loop sync thing might be nice too.

Squids, Is this the same ST 2.1 sounds/library upgrade that was released back with that update. I never did update the library at that time.Squids wrote: By the way, for anyone who is thinking about purchasing SampleTank 2.5 L or XL or the upgrade/crossgrade we will be giving away a free $99 library at www.esoundz.com The info isn't up yet but it will be this week and we'll honor it from September 1st 2007 anyway. I just downloaded and installed. The mac version installs 2.2, even though icon says 2.5
me thinks I.K put the wrong version up for mac.
... anyone else having trouble on a mac?

I've noticed that too, but when you press i (for infos on the plug), it says version 2.5(7H29).
And it's definetely a new ST
Seems a little bit more demanding on CPU, thanks to the new effects routing
Got here some Combis I will "update".
BTW, there's a lot of new Combis in this version.
Thanks !
