You can also use a registry cleaner like regcleaner, etc. Should solve your problems I think? I bought ( and no, I don't work for them) jv16 Power tools and havent regretted it yet; cleans up stuff, uninstals soft that doesn't come w/uninstal feature, etc.
I've downloaded the monster, will try it out later. If you guys still have trouble downloading the lib I'll find a way to upload it somewhere (although I'm not sure they wouldn't sue me if I did... you never know)

maybe they should use torrents, would be faster and more reliable for a file that big (and rars too would help, a corrupt 1,7 GB file is pretty useless)
edit seems the rush passed, and it took up speed now(500k/s now)

Piss pissed who gives a piss.. Its crazy to me that ANY modern app doesnt have some kind of uninstall/reinstall.. Plus who said I was having problems finding keys? I said I was going to find them and post them for anyone that wants to uninstall this thing!VitaminD wrote:pissed you mean?Lagrange wrote:Now I have to find the registry entries myself..??SO FRIGGIN PISS AT THIS THING RIGHTN NOW!!

I think you're having trouble finding registry keys because it doesn't set any.. or at least I'm not seeing any. Its pretty easy for me to find them since I'm on a fairly clean hard drive at the moment.. thus theres no uninstall.. I'd just trash the directory and start over if I were you. make sure your download isn't corrupted (check file size for one).
Sorry but this thing doesnt work at all and in its current state it's pure garbage & NOT WORTH THE 2GIG DOWNLOAD!

Torrents FTW of course, but i'm not complaining.

BTW Lagrange, there are no registry entries, the settings are stored @ 'C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Yellow Tools\Independence Free', so it's a straightforward case of 'delete the folder'. That also translates to, if you wish to keep it, just zip up the entire folder once you've installed it, and it's a POC to have it up and running next time.

Lagrange :
Don't panic.
I got that message too. Do the following : Close independance, copy the sound library's files (should be 7 or 8 iirc) and paste them in the images in its basic path. That should fix it (and did for me).
Yeah, its a little annoying, but it works fine.
Oh, and i still dont know how the hell yall get such low dl rates. I downloaded the entire thing contents, and sample library, in 35 minutes tops. Simply use DAP with firefox. Its much faster.

I tested a few things such as renaming folders, deleting the yellow tools folder in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\ and placing the vsti wherever i felt like placing it, and each time it just asks me to point to the path where the main body of files are installed, and voila, it worked perfectly fine each time (all it does is recreate the yellow tools folder and config file in C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\). Nice.

Sample all its instruments in your DAW, and get rid of independance...her service is no longer required.

I got that error message as well, until I realised that Independence doesn't install the sounds by itself, you have to copy the 1.7 GB folder "Independence Free Content 1" into the "image files" folder and viola....it works.Lagrange wrote:What the shit?? I installed this but none of the libraries will load. I get this.
So then I figured I may have messed something up when I installed it (I put a foldername in the box: Program Files\*INDEPENDENCE 2. *). So I went to uninstall or reinstall it. Low and behold
THERE IS NO UNINSTALL FOR THIS THING IN THE PROGRAM(S) FOLDER OR IN ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS![]()
!!!
I really hope I dont have to hack my registry now!!
EDIT:

JUST TRIED THE INSTALLER AGAIN AND IT ALSO DOES NOT GIVE AN OPTION TO UNINSTALL. THIS IS TERRIBLE...!!

It doesn't need an uninstall since all you have to do is delete the folder. Why add another file to the download?
I know you said you were going to find the keys. I was telling you that you probably aren't going to find any because there doesn't seem to be any.
Its working fine for me. The pipe organ is beautiful. I hope you get your install sorted so you can enjoy the lovely sounds too. It was well worth the download for me.

Agreed VitaminD...this thing is pretty damn sweet. My concerns about crap being installed were quickly assuaged too, once i realised that it doesn't even put an entry into the registry (meaning, amongst other things, that you could run it, like a lot of vst's, from a thumb drive if you so wished) let alone install junk.
