VitaminD is correct. There are NO registry entries because it doesn't use the registry.
You CANNOT delete specific instruments, but you CAN delete groups if you want to save some space.
To do this you simply delete the .ytif files in the "Independence Free Content 1" folder, that you don't want.
eg. To delete the Electric Pianos, delete Independence Free Content 04.ytif.
The .ytif content numbers are the same as the folder number in the Browser.
Those that want to just "rip the sounds" are clearly not getting it.
I have owned YT Candy (which uses the Independence player) for a couple of years now and the workflow, and routing and modulation options are INCREDIBLE.
And that is before we talk effects.
It is certainly in the league of K2 or GS and in some cases better (more stable... less bugs...)
Anyway...

careful with the filters (quick edit panel is great btw)
they go up to 12 pole (72 db) with enough resonance, one could rip themselves a new one..

Ok ok if youz say its worth it I'll give it another try
..
Specifically:
Autoload Sinus.ytif
Origami Content Vol 1.ytif
Origami LE Content Vol 1.ytif
Special.ytif
vinyl noise.ytif
in C:\Program Files\yellow tools Independence Free 2.0\Independence Free Basic Path\image files

Heres the thing. With regards to the basic library that comes with the 200 meg instrument, how do I get those to load up 1st..keyman_sam wrote:Lagrange :
Don't panic.I got that message too. Do the following : Close independance, copy the sound library's files (should be 7 or 8 iirc) and paste them in the images in its basic path. That should fix it (and did for me).

Download went smoothly here, just played with it for a bit.... certainly worth the trouble to download, and a good way to try their stuff (I have to admit, the user interface isn't my favorite, but my hats off to them for giving the chance to "play around" with it to see if it grows on me in time!). Thanks for pointing this out:). Peace, John

Sorry but this thing doesnt work at all and in its current state it's pure garbage & NOT WORTH THE 2GIG DOWNLOAD!
....lol, and this comes from someone who has an ad for AQ in his signature......
I think this one absolutely great and worth the download. A great present (and the installer does not infect your PC with viruses like other products do...)

The comment on how the guy would have loved to have had but know can't be bothered to download is interesting. Several years ago there just wasn't this much stuff and now there are so many kinds of things around for free it is amazing.

Haven't installed it yet. Having some space management sessions here..
But I assume this is something worthwhile.

fwiw, I have much greater success d/l'ing big files like this with downloadthemall - the firefox extension, as it allows for pausing and partial downloads.
thanks, yellowtools!

what's up, it is not the fault of a soft-sample programmer if you use a OS that has such non-sense ......Lagrange wrote:Now I have to find the registry entries myself..??SO FRIGGIN PISS AT THIS THING RIGHTN NOW!!

I use Independence a lot - and of all the samplers I have (Kontakt2, HALion, exs, I also used NNXT when I was using Reason years ago and I did some things with Emu X2 and Ableton Sampler) Independence offers the best workflow. the integrated fx are of usable quality (in other soft-samplers I find the usability of the integrated fx very critical) and also the filters are quite nice (which I also find critical with most other samples - Emu X2 is a clear exception here .... - though I use Independence mainly with percussion samples -> Culture and self-mapped).
About the synth sounds -> I always found it funny that samplers come with synth sounds

Just a word of warning for OSX users: Independence Free DOES require you to install either the whole Yellow Tools keymanager or the WIBU key runtime. They don't seem to mention it anywhere (just that you don't need the physical key) but at least the OSX version does not even start without the key driver.
The key runtime can be found at http://wibu.com/download_user.php ... And before you start shouting and running amok, they do include a convenient uninstaller, so you can probably test it out and remove it if you don't like it, without messing your system.

I downloaded and installed without a hitch. Well, the download did stop once, but then I used DownloadThemAll and it was flawless.
Playing around with this, and JUST looking through the various menus and dropdown boxes and effects and routing options, this thing is superb, and one of the best freebies I've seen. The sounds are better than anything else for the price, IMO. You can complain about the quality, but for free, I sure won't. And it's not like this is a bunch of single velocity layer stuff. It's full stuff.
The sounds, IMO, are great. The amount of editing you can do is extremely flexible. Heck, just knowing that I can load MIDI files into it and map them on a key to trigger is great.
Really, worth every second of the download, which didn't take that long for me. I don't use many synths or anything, so I'm only really interested in the acoustic stuff, and it's great. Fantastic freebie, and I can't wait for the other libraries.

Oh, and it works in surround, allows plenty of layering options, remapping of anything included, disk streaming OR RAM streaming AND allows you to save. That makes this top notch for me.
I'm not a huge fan of the interface though. But I'm starting to get used to where everything is, and it will be just fine to use.

As a performer/preset user, and the fact one cannot 'add' to the existing library using its powerful engine, had me delete it after some preset testing.
I will applaud the great quality samples and such, but for 2 gigs, I've already got others that sound 'just good enough' (this is superior, but I wouldn't be able to 'utilize it extensively' anytime soon) and will take into preference over something like this.
Also, as a performance tool it's a bit impractical on my machine. Load times, crashing (yes, crashing to the point it leaks and have to reset), and the lack of 'quantity' for 2 GB.
Nice freebie, but it won't suit my needs.
