sorry, but what do you expect - that that company gives away for free one of their major products? Do you work for no money? Jeeezzzz ----
if you want to add your own content get a license!

I assure you I do like it, but I wouldn't be able to use it even if my life depended on it in the future. And well, I don't like wasting HDD space for things I don't use.

Anyway, it beats using KOMPAKT ACID PRo edition; relatively same size. Also deleted it cause I don't use it.

Don't quote me on this, but as far as i am aware, when they release the free versions of Candy, Culture and Cajestic, they will be accessible through the independence free engine.
Yellow Tools Site wrote:Independence Free 2.0 comes with 2 GB of free instrumentes from the Independence 2.0 Core Library.
Additionally you can download some free instruments from Candy, Culture and Majestic very soon.

Post

This will probably be the case, as Candy, Culture, and Majestic all use a player version of the same Independence engine.

Just downloading now - thanks for the heads up on this one

So to avoid the problems Lagrange had, there is a set of instructions in PDF with it?

Looking forward to trying this out!

Post

...crap, I downloaded this last night and totally forgot about it!...duuuhh!!....blasphemy I know..

Post

nice sounds (particularly the organ) and I really like the fx -

but the seeming inability to link the fx parameters to modulation sources and the lack of too many features that arent in kontakt or emulator x I just cant see how they hope to differentiate themselves in the market place enough to gain too many sales
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

yeah its called 'readme.pdf' :hihi:

all it says is:
To install the 2 GB sound library of Independence Free on your computer, simply copy the folder „Independence Free Content 1" into the „image files" folder of your „Independence Free Basic Path" folder.
If you do not want to install all files of the sound library you can also create a new folder „Independence Free Content 1" manually and then copy only a selection of the image files
doesn't get much easier than this 8)

THanks VitaminD
Done now.
First impressions... amazing as a freebie, and I think you could use these sounds to make a complete track. However, if you want to dig into this, it obviously has lots of depth - hence a learning curve. While if you use it as a ROMpler, the effects in some cases are rather much... so back to tweaking then/learning how to use it.

In terms of whether there's a market for it... I guess that *IF* I invest time learning how to get the best out of this, and subsequently wanted to buy a VST Sampler (I use Reason's NN-XT at pesent) it would be top of my list. Well, after the Ableton one. Oh shit...
