Hey Tim,

is that a Yamaha R X-15 Drum machine I see in your studio? I forgot I have one of those as well but don't use it much anymore.......screen isn't back lit and at my age It would have to be the size of a Billboard for me to see it, glasses or no glasses but I'm keeping it anyway's.

Hey Ben

YEP..it is!!

I actually use it on percussion softsynths as a drum programmer. I recently pulled it out, and rediscovered the patterns I already had in it. I was cool to have it trigger DKPlus, Utonic and Cakewalk session. The only thing is it only works on specific plugins, as I think it only has a MIDI ON and not a MIDI OFF when it sends midi messages. At least..thats my theory. I was hoping there could be a VST midi plugin that would help in that..but I don't know. But otherwise..having fun with it. Plus..the actual sounds are not too bad from the RX-11 itself. A little bit of effects with it goes a long way :-) CamelSpace is great on it :-)

I still have my old rx-17...it's under my bed somewhere...last time I checked it still worked.

Trying to see. In the lower rack, you have a Roland JP8080, what looks like a Yamaha A4000?? (guessing, hard to see) and I recognize that Emagic AMT8 because I ahve one in my rack, and some MOTU unit... Triton on the desk as well?

Why not record its output to a MIDI track and look at what it outputs in list mode? Easy enough to do in Cubase and will prove your theory pretty easily.

Thanks :)
The wooden dog is fairly important. He has spinny ears, and is Czech. I find the idea of his ears being swept back by the sheer level of noise very helpful. Actually, the enormous fan is also vital- it gets spaghetti-western-hot in here.

Unpictured also are an incredibly crappy digital dictaphone, and a wobbly tape recorder 8)
