Bini's great imo... and right now I'm playing with xoxos' very impressive Sounds of Nature.
Oh, and the Element of Surprise GUI is brilliant!

xoxos' plugs are blowing me away atm.
The GUI's are fantastic, and they can all model what they are made for almost perfectly, not to mention each is capable of great random fx as well.

I can't quite nail a good thunder sound though
The others are spot on mind!

Yea It's got the low rumble perfect but I have to send it through special distortion to get it to "tear" like thunder.spuddle wrote:I can't quite nail a good thunder sound though

Probably going to get my first place. I have a storm going that's putting me in a trance.

Only briefly played with things, but here are first thoughts about the ones that stuck out to me (for good reasons
Ellipsis - love it, am going to use it a lot.
Blip - love it, am going to use it a lot.
Alieno - love it, makes some great sounds but not the sort or synth I'd normally use.
Kitr - I love it, but I doubt I'll find a use for it, really fun to play though (and looks really nice
Flicker - as simple as hell and will be usueful, but I like it, albeit not massively flexible.
Blind VU - again really simple and I like the idea of it, but don't know if I'll find a use for this one.
Oddy Free - I've been playing with this longer than the other plugins so far, Mondo Filter Sweep rules...
Element of Surprise - absolutely brilliant
pure simplicity (at least usability-wise) and I'm having a lot of fun with this.
Pitch Black - great, some really nice sounds from this.
FFDelay - taking some figuring out, but having fun with this.
DCDC - awesome, and a brilliant GUI
Rhythmic Tangent - loving this, again something I'm going to have to spend a lot of time with.
Truc - a wild beast, some mental sounds coming out of this at the moment!
Wavtransit - absolutely brilliant, pure beat-mangling heaven.
Xoxos Nature - the bird and insect plugs are amazing, absolutely brilliant.

try the preset 'french split' on acrobatics alieno instrument.. it seems to swing the sound out in 3d behind you, (on my girlfriends laptop speakers it does anyway... quite amazing!)
can anyone else try it on big speakers, i wont be home til tomorrow to try it.

... ähemmm ...my very subjektive impressions
Dr. Modus: Very nice Gui (Art Vera !!) embellishes little functions but stable and beautiful
Oddy Free: "Ugly Gui" ... Sound good. must test once again
IFF-Synth: Crashes in Fl ...
Truc filter modulator FX: confusing something, good Gui, ... more time needs
FFDelay: a little playful filter pluggy reconciles funny Gui-ideasy -- in the whole one very lovley
Phase Bender = only for XP
Rhytmic Tangent: Very much complex Gui ... and surely very much interesting, need more time
Element of Surprise: Unfortunately not (External exeption C000001D) ????
Crasht according to the error message Fl -- complete restart of the system necessary)
I m still testing

I've just started wading through all the tantalizing plugs, but I am just so astounded at the xoxos plugs that I had to cry out a little early. Fantastic modeling and effects, but oddly I'm finding them, especially the thunder, to be excellent source material (via external effects) for synth instruments.

Being a klutz and a newbie, I often struggle with music software. But Rastabox hit my spot: a clear GUI, big simple controls, tweakable presets (and lots of them), low CPU use and a great sound. I followed the instructions in the textfile and slapped a phaser and delay after Rastabox. The result:
. Dubtastic!
Thank you to Lithium for making me sound good
and thanks to all the DC programmers.
Now, on to the next 40 entries. This is going to be fun...
