$500 for Independence is a little expensive. But, I love the sounds in this thing. The cross-grade is $350, so I might consider it.

Post

Well, $500 isn't bad at all if you think about all the great content you get and the quality of the samples is REALLY good.

Post

I have 'Culture' and 'Candy' and yes: the quality of Yellow Tools samples is fantastic.

The full version of Independence will import WAV and a few other formats. When you buy the full version you will also get a special deal on "Chicken Systems - Translator Independence Edition" for just $49. Will convert pretty much anything into Inde-format. It's just amazing!
Yes I know but that wasn't what I was asking. The free version doesn't load audio files so does that mean it does load other Yellow tools samples or only what it comes with?

Post

the yellow tool samples come with their own player don't they ?
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Post

..I dont really think the CPU hit would justify me using independence free considering the limited sample set but I have to say they sound fantastic and I would seriously consider buying one of their full programs... excellent!

Post

Finally got into the site & have the files downloading. I'll have to wait until morning to check them out, but it'll give me something to look forward to while I'm at work tonight.
I wish I could sing as well as the voices inside my head...

Only what it comes with... you can't load the Culture or Candy files into the free player and have them work.

I should add that YT did announce that they would also release FREE cut-down versions of Candy, Culture and Majestic as well.

But of course these will only be a taste of the FULL instruments. Eg. They are not gonna give you the full 9GB of sax from Candy, or 16GB of Bass from Majestic.

Still not been able to get it :(

Their server seems constantly overloaded.

I read a couple places to keep refreshing/reloading the page and that worked. Also installed free download manager, so now I finally got it all.

i don't think the japanese pay more than $40 equivalent a month for their 20 megabytes per second connections. America just sucks like that. Those asians know whats up with technology. They get everything 4 years before it even sees the light of day over here.
hey...we spent all our money in vietnam and iraq! money currently flying out the window at $3B/wk! like that bandwidth?
overthrow KRAPITALISM ! you have nothing to lose but your claims.

yeah, you think if the government had instead infused all that money back into the economy - the investment/knowledge-base/scientific returns would more than make up for our lack of presence in another country.

3 billion a week at 52 week per last 3 yrs. = 474 billion total.

Just think if we had used that money to make some genetic mutating virus that would infect and kill everyone with brainwave and synaptic responses that showed their membership with the taliban. With the advances that could have been made in nano-tech, you think we could have dropped some smart biological bomb that would single out terrorists by some advanced brainwave mapping function.

Then we could spend the rest of the 374 billion in advances in energy efficiency, bio-engineering, chip manufacturing techniques, and advanced nano-technology.

But of course that would be a stupid idea because I'm not some flaming politician who pays for sex and studied international policy for 20 years.

Post

What about the taliban mothers? Or are they responsible for not teaching their kids straight? And their girlfriends?
Just a thought. Need to work on that virus design a little more...
