"Alien Artifact" wont load for me on Kore (Kore 1) or Tracktion 2, but the hosts do not crash.

this really belongs in "first impressions," but...

Alien Artifact: was sentenced to the "ignore" list by Tracktion 3...

Bagels: looks promising. I like the minimalist interface, but haven't spent enough time with it.

Bini: I like the Woody Guthrie reference/warning on the interface. Couldn't get much out of it, yet. Must experiment more.

Dr. Modus: looks like it might be a simple, lightweight, useable plug. Can I change the assigned note#s?

Flicker: could be useful for "insta-trance" pads! Interface could be prettied up A LOT, though...

Hypercyclic: will require a lot more patience and experimentation. but I like the cut of your jib.

IFF Synth: has one of the slickest interfaces in this batch, but I don't yet "get" what I'm doing w/r/t to wave creation/morphing...

KiTR: I am REALLY tired of incomprehensible/illegible interfaces. If you want to do "cute and child-like," study some of Krakli's interfaces...

KX-MODULAD: looks deep. interface layout seems less-than-logical so far...

Pitch Black: my immediate favourite of these plugins! Nice, clean interface, not bad CPUsage. I don't yet see how a vowel formant filter particularly lends itself to the kinds of sounds that pitchblack is feeding it, but I can always ignore that to use the thick, fuzzy sounds without delving into that filter section. Some nifty modulation options, too.

Sweet girl blue verb #3: "is a very sophisticated echo plugin." It's also got a stupidly sexist interface. IF you're serious about making plugins for people to use, get serious about how you present them.

Anything I didn't comment on, don't despair: I just haven't gotten around to trying it out yet...

NB: all plugs were downloaded early yesterday afternoon (~1:00 pm, EDT), so whichever version was up yesterday, that's the version I'm using.

system:
20" iMac Intel Core Duo
2GB RAM
Windows XP SP2 (until I can run Wavelab in Mac OS, I'm doing all my audio in Windows.)
Tracktion 3
Tapco USB.Link audio interface
AKG K240S headphones.

What are you exactly doing?
Because here it does work fine.

Of course you can!
There are two ways to do that:

1) Click on the 'Learn' button and either strike a note on your external keyboard or press a key on the little keyboard which appears instead of the file display.
2) [Ctrl]+click on the drum pad (which displays the currently assigned note) - a pop-up will appear. Select a note. That's it.
*If you [Shift]+click on the drum pad the sample will play reversed.

In case you missed it in the support thread : uploaded a comprehensive user guide for hypercyclic here  http://www.mucoder.net/hypercyclic/manual/.

Contains also instructions on how to set up hc with hosts and how to route midi to other synth plugins.
Cheers!

IFF Synth crashes live.
Alien Artifact and the compressor effect vst (not the ducky one the other) wont show up in live.

Yay, someone noticed the reference! :)

You may have more luck if you load the presets supplied in the bini_patches.txt (file > load all programs) as the default ones aren't loaded as is. I guess I should upload a corrected version...

Hitch, you can try downloading SRG direct from my page and see if it works then...

Lotus2035, thanks for the suggestion, but am I right in saying that your file is 45MB or am I being an idiot? It's probably the latter. :) I'm on 56K dial-up, so at 45MB SuperRiffGuitar is too big for me to download. Perhaps that's why I'm having trouble with unzipping. Aargh! *frustration*
Read reviews of free netlabel/Creative Commons music at Catching The Waves, a most amateurish free music blog. @catchingthewave

Sorry to hear that and yes it is 45mb...have you tried a download manager like this one?:

http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm

It will split the download into different parts although I dont know if it will do any good on a 56k connection..its worth a try..

edit: I think you can pause/resume downloads with this too.

Thanks, Gary, I spent some more time with it, got some useable results.
I think this will work nicely alongside the Pitch Black synth -- both can generate thick, overtone-laden sounds.
I love thick, overtone-laden sounds.

(shameless plug: see www.radioroomrecording.com for examples of my thick, overtone-laden sounds)

Nothing out of the ordinary, but the samples won't change from the menus instead I have to browse to the folder on my drive to change them. This was in CMmusic. I'll try it elsewhere-Muzys and FL. Luna free as previous. Also what is the use of the Midi Library? How to use? THanks.
