I've browsed the Kable site, there's to some extent a MIDI device pack, and I want to filter all MIDI signals down to one channel and filter out low velocity notes.
How do I get into the "Midi device pack"?
All I've got so far is input and output device squares, which may or may not be connected to anything.
Do I need to use gate and/or transformer right away?

Ok, now I'm just trying to get all MIDI messages to get routed onto MIDI channel 1.
I've set my input box as Fast Track Pro MIDI in, my output box as MIDI Yoke NT: 1,
and a gate box says midi.chn = = 1
Now the pins from that box won't attach. Do I need a transformer, not sure what's going on, I tried what's on the screenshot page at the site and used midi.chn = %xchan for my transformer, that doesn't connect either, and I don't know what the symbols % or xchan mean. Thanks.

There's no space in operators.
Allowed Conditional Operators
== Equal to
!= Not equal to
> Greater than
>= Greater than or equal to
< Less than
<= Less than or equal to
To connect things use the connection tool, you can't just drag from connection points. % is for variable, the name xchan doesn't mean anything other than it's a variable named xchan.

Ok, what is needed for midi data to pass in the first place?
I connected my fast track pro midi input directly to midi yoke 1, and there's no midi data going into my synth which is accepting midi yoke 1.
Thanks!

Did you save and enable your kable design?
from the readme:
Getting Started (short version)
Go into the installation folder and start the Kable.exe application. A little red cable icon will appear in the windows tray bar. Right click it to bring up the context menu and choose Open Designer to launch the designer.
With the Kable Designer create a new Kable Diagram. Make sure you have an Input and OutputDevice and have the device set in the properties pane (i.e. the title should not be "<...>"). Make sure all components are connected with connections. Save your diagram.
Please go to http://kable.sourceforge.net/ and check the documentation there about how to create Conditions and Expressions.
Right click the Kable icon again and choose Configure.... In the new dialog press Add.. and select the .kar file you just created. The file will be opened and immediately processed, meaning that what ever you have configured there will now be applied to your midi devices.

First I opened it up, made midi in to midi out,
saved my kar file
closed that leaving just the icon in the system tray open
i press configure, and it closes the program instead of going to add...
Is that supposed to happen?

I downloaded the update to Kable, now when I go to configure, it opens and allows me to choose my saved kar file.
I did that, and midi passed thru and on into my synth.
Now to use it in a way that benefits my midi controller.

Can you tell me what I'm missing to function this way:
Trying to force midi channels 1 through 6 to be recognized as midi channel 1 only.
I've tried this a bunch of ways, the latest is:
a gate with: midi.chn != 1
then a transformer with: midi.chn = 1
doesn't pass any midi data. To me it looks like anything not recognized initially as midi channel 1 would be forced to turn into midi channel 1.
But I'm not understanding this yet.

Hi,
can you please post a picture of you configuration (you can right click in the editor and choose File > Save as Image File...) or better your kar file, if you don't mind.
I will have look and see if it's working for me.
Cheers

Let's see.
1. Get the new version 0.2.0 from here: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile ... _id=204849
2. Change the condition in the Gate from 'midi.chn !=1' to midi.chn != 1'. There was a blank missing between the operator and the 1.
This should work.
Please note that there is Bug in the new version which makes it impossible to reload a model. So you have to restart Kable every time you change the model. Hope to fix this tomorrow.
Have to sleep now...

There actually was the space between = and 1
I just re-made that kar file, because I changed my original one plenty of unsuccessful times, so that wasn't the problem, I'm sure I had the appropreiate spacing when I was actually trying to use it.
