The Hands of Dr_Modus

I'd like to thank Dr_Modus for curing me of my free drum sampler addiction.
I've been crying out for this kind of simple drum module for years.
It's a beautiful design - useful functions and a simple layout.
The reason I'm paying tribute is because I have a suspicion that it will be overlooked by those who already own super-dooper drum samplers.
Truth is, there no free drum samplers of this quality out there. Which is why I'm awarding it first prize in my own personal contest.
First prize is my thanks and a lifetime supply of brown nosing.

What others?
Find me a free drum module that has the same functions as Dr_Modus.
I really enjoyed Grizzly when it first came out but it seemed to crash on me (something to do with location of samples).
A lot of the other free drum modules have odd quirks and design flaws.
No disrespect to the other designers but I think we're swamped with novelty synths.
I think it's a brave and smart move for someone to look at what's on offer in the Vst world and say, 'Is there anything really obvious that we're lacking?'

'File open error' message appears if you try to load other file formats than wavs.lucknow13 wrote:They won't or it says 'file open error' and I'm sad cause I like the basic simplicity and sound very much.boohoo!
Moreover, the default preset loads the bundled samples on the start up automatically.

Dr.Modus in Luna .when changing wave files a file load error comes up and that's it,it won't load anything after that.Nice machine tho, thanks.
What are you exactly doing?
Because here it does work fine.
Nothing out of the ordinary, but the samples won't change from the menus instead I have to browse to the folder on my drive to change them. This was in CMmusic. I'll try it elsewhere-Muzys and FL. Luna free as previous. Also what is the use of the Midi Library? How to use? THanks.

OK, I see, it can be a particular host that doesn't work with some of the third-party modules, I guess.Nothing out of the ordinary, but the samples won't change from the menus instead I have to browse to the folder on my drive to change them. This was in CMmusic. I tested it in SynthEdit, Savihost, and Cubase. No such a problem with these hosts.
MIDI Library button is just a shortcut that opens the folder called 'MIDI Library'. I used to keep MIDI files there so that they could be dragged and dropped into the host (or used this button to access Dr.Modus's folders a bit faster than via Start Menu > My Computer > ...).

It does. There's a button that switches between Decay and ADSR modes. An orange one. It's on the left of the Decay slider.androidlove wrote: ok, it doesn't have adsr.
Here's a screenshot.
Which ones? I'm just curious. Could you PM me about this, please?i do appreciate a few of the samples that come with this plug

I have the same issue where sample scanning does not work. I use Live 5.2.
It does work in Energy XT but only if i use the sample folders that came with Modus. If i select my own sample folder, it doesn't work.
Also, the ADSR filters aren't working. I've tried on all channels with various samples and they have no affect.

the files are loaded fine from a different location on the hard drive, they do appear in the pop-up menu and play just fine.
ADSR envelope also works as it is supposed to.
SynthEdit is here.
