Anyone else having notes getting stuck?

Anyone else experiencing notes that get stuck (just certain notes once in a while)? The problem seems to be in ST2.5 and not in the host, because even if I use the internal (software) keyboard in ST2.5 the note keeps going forever. The only way of getting by this problem is to reload the patch (or restart the host...). A panic-button would help.

Everything has been very smooth here so far, knock on wood.
I havent even had the dreaded dropped note phenom that I had noticed occasionally when overusing the sustain pedal.

Your sequencer usually has a panic button of sorts.
I haven't had this problem and I use SampleTank a lot. Mostly in Cubase 4/VST.

I'm glad you posted, Janka. I'm finding that when I'm recording any of the Combi patches to MIDI, the playback doesn't release the notes when it's supposed to.
I first noticed this on the Warm PianoPad combi. Because it's a long evolving pad, it took a bit before I realized what was going on. Basically, the notes don't release until the new notes are played. I've since seen this behavior with a few other patches.
I'm using Cubase 4 as the host. (BTW Squids, where's the panic button in C4?).
Cheers

In C4? I forget what it's called but it's in the drop down I think. It cancels out all of the midi notes... some kind of reset thingy. It's not called Panic.

Got it. MIDI tab. Last item in the dropdown is RESET.Squids wrote:In C4? I forget what it's called but it's in the drop down I think. It cancels out all of the midi notes... some kind of reset thingy. It's not called Panic.
Good to know.

Okay, if you really think there's a stuck note bug in ST2.5 then describe it more specifically and someone will have a look trying to duplicate it. So, computer specs, OS, host w/ ver number and which sound(s) [patch name] is producing this problem for you? Does it happen when you play a lot of notes? When using with sustain pedal?
Again, I haven't had this problem so if you want a definitive answer on it then give me some more info and we'll try to see if it is a bug... and if it is of course I'll pass the info along for it to be fixed.
For future reference though please remember that this isn't the IK tech support forum. I don't mind helping here and there but the people whose job is to do this work for IK tech support which you can always contact and troubleshoot your system. That's recommended. But, I can make a few exceptions now and then if it doesn't get out of hand. Keep in mind, we're eager to support SONIC REALITY products and esoundz here in this forum.
Thanks.

If it comes up again I'll try to keep track of what I was doing before. When it happened I wasn't thinking it was the software's fault or I'd have done then. For all I know maybe it is the keyboard doing it.

Orchestral strings often stick on me.
It is played along with some piano , and I use the sustain pedal often.

Okay, what about the rest of the answers though? Computer spec, OS, host ver # etc.peppy197 wrote:Orchestral strings often stick on me.

If we want to TRY to help and allow a little bit (not a lot) of technical checking on a non-SR product the very least we need is the full info to test it.

Additional info: C4 latest update (4.0.2?), Dell Dimension running WinXP; 2 gig RAM; Tascam US-122 interface, ST2.5 sample folder is on an external USB hard drive (USB 2.0 protocol).BERFAB wrote: I'm finding that when I'm recording the Combi patches to MIDI, the playback doesn't release the notes when it's supposed to.

FWIW, I've only noticed this behaviour on the current track I'm working on. (The first time I'm using ST2.5.) I haven't really analysed if there's something about the track itself that might be causing this behavior. Knowing where the C4 "reset" button is is a big help though.

My spec:
Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M3438G, 2.0 GHz Pentium Mobile processor, 2Gb RAM.
Windows XP SP2
Host: Energy XT2 v2.0.2
soundcard: M-Audio FireWire 410
The way I see it, the problems start when I quantize a part. The first note in the quantized part sometimes get stuck. This might indicate that the host causes the problem. The strange thing here is that it's still stuck when I play on ST2.5's own software-keyboard using the mouse. Reloading the patch releases the note.
This forum is so damned good I never even think of going to ikmultimedia.com

Here's my system info: P4 3GHz, 1 Gb RAM, WinXP with parts of SP2, CME UF6 -> M-Audio FW410 via plain MIDI cable (the USB tends to stop working at random moments). I was playing with something from SS2 in ST2 standalone but don't recall what preset it was. No pedals, just plain old keys.
