And if they torrented it they would have to set up their own private tracker...
I'm sure many, like me, just used a BS Gmail account to register, the same one that ALL my spam from mfrs.I dont want to read goes to.

I do not accept the premise that d/ling something from a website or signing up for something gives anyone the right to spam me for eternity. 8) 8)

Shame on Yellow Tools. What a crappy server/hosting they have. I keep on trying to access their site since 6 days with no luck. I've tried every day several times in different time phases of the days. It seems almost like that Mid-Europe/Hungary is completely excluded from their free offering. All my softwares a legitime bought copies. I use to spend a decent fraction of my modest income on music softwares. It would be a shame if they'd think Mid- or Eastern-Europeans are not potential customers so they might be excluded to keep the bandwidth for the richer side of the world. :( This is just my stupid assumption, but I start to lose my interest to the Yellow Tools stuff. They should serve their products in a more appealing way, I doubt they don't have money for a suitable web hosting or sharing solution. The Props was offering ReBirth also on a torrent system.

"It's dead, Jim".

No luck getting any further than the home page. Looks like they got slashdotted in the extreme...

I'll check back in a week or so.

Hi everyone,
I have downloaded Independence Free, and would like to use it as a plugin for Cubase SX 2.2.
But, it is not listed in my vst submenu in Cubase. (I put the independence free.dll in steinberg\vstplugins, and the soundbank in C:\Program Files\yellow tools Independence Free 2.0\Independence Free Basic Path\image files)

Why won't it work, the standalone verion works fine?
(If I missed something really simple, please don't call me an idiot)
So, help appreciated

I finally got in last night around midnight ET! :)

I used Free Download Manager http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/download.htm
and queue up the download. It finished around 3:00AM ET
Not bad at all.

Yellowtools server is so bogged down because this thing is Hot! :hyper: I haven't had a chance to give a good work out, but wow - so far it's great. I got to get use to it though.

They should really switch to a run time registration - nag screen at startup. Then just freely distribute the bits. But maybe it's best to keep the reigns on tight for the first release.

I don't mind the marketing email - since the tool is "free". Especially since this freeware is sparking my interest in Yellowtools more. (their plan is working :D )

And BTW - I can't get into KVR forums half the time because the servers too busy.

just4fun -- there's some "WIBU" thing mentioned on their site as being a necessary additional download. i think it's a virtual dongle driver as i recall Reaktor3 having a "wibu" usb key.

i haven't been able to connect for the past 2 days so .. i guess i'll see it when i see it

BTW, FXPansion is distributing the additional content for Guru (it's a couple Gigs) via Bit Torrent.

AFAIK the Wibu driver is only required for the FULL version of the software... not the FREE version... which doesn't require the dongle.

Oh? Well, that's good. Someday I'll be able to get to the site and check it out... or not, right?

Unfortunately not on Mac. In absence of the Wibu driver the software won't open. Just download and install the latest Wibu driver from the web-site. If you don't like Independence Free and want to throw it away you can easily uninstall the Wibu driver (it comes with an uninstaller).
So far no problems here.

Yellowtools are doin a good thing here, and it's nice to see them take up the fight with Mach5 and Kontakt, unfortunate for them with the bad hosting, though I suggest we cut them some slack, in a few weeks it will most probably calm down.

When we released FreeG, we had THOUSANDS of downloads per day, luckily for us FreeG is a small package, and we have good hosting.

:D

Thumbs up for Yellowtools!

Cheers,
JFN
