thanks! well, the sound of Mr. Alias depends greatly on the sampling rate. when you wrap it in this plugin, the aliases come out clearer and they sound smoother. or maybe not. but it does sound way different.

Because of this, aliasing has twice the frequency range to unfold, which means that the aliasing that enters back into the audible domain is much less, and upon downsampling, the upper range (containing only aliasing) is discarded.

4x oversampling would be excellent. I believe that's what the Nord Lead is.Chris Walton wrote:One of my future idea is to add more modes than just .os.dll - also add .os4.dll for 4x oversampling, and I guess .us.dll for the undersampling.

Did you see how they rushed it out unfinished? It was probably so those of us who prepaid wouldn't now have a chance to back out, what a way to treat loyal customers.Genetic_Junk wrote:Yeah I feel kinda bad for buying it already. I tried it with energyxt, chainer, and polybit in cubase sx2 and cubase crashed with all three of them. Interestingly, if I load the vsti before I have a new project, it loads up fine. Once I start a project it crashes cubase.
edit: I found a work around. I load energyxt as a vst/vsti then load the engeryxt.os plugin inside.

That may be true, but in the end it was my decision to buy. Hopefully William will add additional functionality and increase compatibility to make his payware valuable.Uncle E wrote:Did you see how they rushed it out unfinished? Ok, I uploaded a new version (check the original post)
I didn't have too much time today so it's mostly a maintenance release that will hopefully make some hosts work better with it. I did, however, fix the slight MIDI timing errors.
And yes, there's actually _LESS_ source code this time

sorry for the thread hijack... i realize Mr. Alias is sort of incongruent with the idea of an oversampling vst.

Could please do so that the Oversample plugin displays OS after the plugin name. Right now I can't see which one is the normal and which one is the oversampled. It also crashes Samplitude randomly. Regards

It's on my TODO list.punkrockdude wrote:Could please do so that the Oversample plugin displays OS after the plugin name. Right now I can't see which one is the normal and which one is the oversampled.
Thanks for testing - was this 1.0 or 1.1?punkrockdude wrote:It also crashes Samplitude randomly. Regards

1.1 stops cubase from loading. It goes though loading the plugins but when its about to open it just shuts down. After I remove the .os dlls it loads fine.
