Hi folks,
I got my Rex Pak bundle yesterday and esoundz is closed for the weekend. So, maybe one of you can help me here? I am trying to install the Rex stuff in my RMX. I dragged and dropped the bonus pak into the proper folder and the stuff shows up in RMX menu, but will not play. It won't even open them. Do I need to convert every single file using the SAGE converter? That will take forever if so... I am on Mac OSX 10..4.10

Thanks,
Geoff

Yes, I believe you have to use the SAGE converter. But, it's designed for each folder to be compatible with the SAGE converter. This is because they are all one folder deep and have 61 or less files in each folder. If it didn't then the SAGE converter wouldn't recognize them. So that would take even longer.

Thanks Squids,
Here is how it worked out for me. I couldn't drag and drop individual folders into SAGE converter. The converter didn't recognize the rex2 files inside. So I had to rename each folder and drop the individual REX files into the SAGE converter. It takes a bit longer than drag and drop. Control C,V and A have been my friend this weekend.(Mac OSX) I have half of them converted now. Can't wait to start playing these jewels.

There is geometry in the humming of the strings, there is music in the spacing of the spheres. Pythagoras

Why did you have to rename the folders? What did you rename them to? Are you able to drag and drop other Rex2 folders elsewhere? I am curious.

Glad you got them converted okay though. Enjoy!

Hi Squids,
I simply copied the names you guys gave them. For some reason I couldn't just drag and drop the original folder into the converter. I had to open the folder and drag and drop the actual samples. So the order was click on the folder name, control c, click on the samples, control a, drag the files into the converter, then control v the folder name in the window, then hit convert and wait a bit.... Repeat ad infinitum...
Cheers,
Geoff

But, can you drag the entire folder of any other Rex libraries? That was my question. I am not talking about SAGE Expanders that are already converted but other REX2 (if you have). Just curious.

Anyway, it sounds painless to drag in the individual files (or copy paste them). It takes a while but just once and then you've got them in there.

Hi Squids,
I can drag and drop rex files, but seemingly not rex2 ones. Ah well, I just convert a couple/few discs a day. It will be done soon enough. Thanks for your attention. Can't wait for the SampleTron to come out!
Cheers,
Geoff

I am having a silimar problem.
I am using the Sage convertor and converting the files.
The folder appears in RMX but there is no associated audio file to play.

Any ideas
Thanks

If you read above and do it the same way you should have the same results. Geoff successfully converted the entire collection into his RMX.

RMX is a little particular in how it reads Rexes. Not sure why. But, they will work. You just have to do whatever RMX needs you to do. See above.

I just received my Rex Paks today up in Canada. The mail is delivered by bears. I have successfully SAGE converted World Grooves and Country Folk but here is a minor niggle: the files show up under "converted REX files" under "user libraries" but there is no option to differentiate between the two DvDs. All converted REX show up alphabetically. Once all 16 DvDs are SAGE converted, this might pose some organizational problems. Please help.

Hello
I created folders for each rex pak and dragged the files to each folder. I did this as I converted each Pak so an not to confus which pak each file was from.

hope this helps

Thanks Bronnie!
Can I re-organize things post Sage conversion?
At what stage are you doing the drag n' drop?

Here's what I did:
I copied Dirty South in its entirety to Spectrasonics/SAGE/SAGE libraries

Then I opened the SAGE Converter and did the conversion saving the file in each individually named sub-folder such as 74_Scrape and so on.

What have I done wrong?

Never mind...what a waste of time and effort. I'm batch converting Vintage Soul as I write this. IDIOT!!!!
