Hello everyone!

To make the synthesis methods less obscure, for the interested I have uploaded a short manual to my rlma-labs website.
Here is the link.

In case anyone found problems or bug please post rants (or raves) here.

Bye, rl

Thanks. Nice synth.

I like the Mondrianity of your site.
You can't always get what you waaaant...

----It's still kind of "obscure" ha-ha, but I still like it anyways, great work. :)

Yep this one deserves a Bump and definitely a stand out for me at least anyway.

FX off - still same prob. I'll check different patches and SAVI Host.
Input: watching the world go by ...
Manifestors: AMD Athlon XP 2600 / Terratec DMX 6 Fire / Windows XP / Cubase SX ...
Output: McCartnoTRON

----I grabbed the new version, and now all the presets are the same, ie = the sound does not change as I go through the preset names. (Using FL Studio)

Jeff, I just checked (with FL Studio 7)

No Problem here!

- I redownloaded Pitch Black from the KVR DC site,
- replaced PitchBlack.dll in my plugin folder.
- now in FL studio Insert -> more...
- clicked on Refresh Button (lower right), Fast Scan (recommended)
Maybe you forgot that!!!
- loaded PitchBlack
- now I was able to select patches either from the instruments own preset manager, or from FL studio's browser

Post

----No luck here. The old version changed patches fine, the new one doesn't for some reason. I am using FL Studio 5, but, the patch changing (via the FL wrapper) worked fine on the first version of Pitch Black. I guess I'll just stick the first version back on and not worry about it since I wasn't having any probs with it anyways. :)

My #1 in the DC!

A few suggestions:

- Midi Learn!

- Midi Sync for envs

- More Mod Matrix destinations

- Midi CC#'s for Mod Matrix modulators

Congrats on a great and useful synth!

Post

Good suggestions.

(Originally PitchBlack was a little KVR DC sideproject of my development of an additive synthesizer. According to all your positive responses and warm feedback, I think I should also care for my baby in the future. I have some plans including spectral morphing, more filter models, modulation options and maybe a second exciter/shaper for richer sounds)

I'd be interested to know which types of sounds you prefer/find useful/don't like.

Post

----I'd like the cpu usage to go down a bit, but don't we always want that ha-ha. :D More presets, and umm, any other improvements that don't take up more cpu would be very welcome. I think it's a very cool synth that has a pretty unique sound to it already. :)

Personally I like PB's raunchy/thick sound (like when tweaking the preset named pulse).

One thing I missed is that this synth needs Portamento and pitchbend adjustments!

Comb filters and maybe a gate sequencer (like Novakill uses) could also be a nice adds in the future.

I love the interface, but would consider hi-lighting the selected tabs for the FX, filters, etc...

I will vote this one as #1 but will prolly never get to use it because:

A: Already got Zebra

B: I'm on OS X

But, I think that this synth can be made into a very useful, great sounding, easy to use, go-to instrument for many people and that's why I like it!

Too high on Cpu, can there be a mono on/off mode?

Edit: I can't seem to low the cpu usage, I've tried tweaking everything possible, on my 2.6ghz 1036mb thing, it starts at 40% cpu if I play slowly, faster and it goes up and 3 seconds later it's at full power.

This really sounds great, but I can't jam out!
