I've not tried one single synth in this years DC, because, to put it bluntly, i've got synths coming out of my arse (i'm seeing a doc on monday, don't worry)...so, i'm just going to ask, is there ANYTHING there that breaks with tradition enough to make it worth trying? Or is pretty traditional, but has been streamlined to the bone (low cpu, small file size etc etc).
Fx are a different story, i've tried them all, and loved many. I hope i don't sound uppity here, but the past year or so there has been about 20 new synths to every 1 effect.

Meh, if you're looking for something that you don't have already, even though it is my synth you'd probably want to not bother with the Oddy Free. It's my stab at an Odyssey emu, but it's built to behave only like the original and not at all like a modernized version of one.
Basically, if you're looking for a free alternative to G-Media's version that is pretty good (this I've heard from users, not just my claim), DL my Oddy, but if you're looking for next-gen synthesis methods and such, I'll save you some time and tell ya to pick some others first.
Just please though if you plan on voting don't let the fact that you don't download everything skew your votes, it's not fair to us that you haven't downloaded if you haven't even gone to the trouble to at least try our stuff.
Cheers

You should at least give a try to xoxos's Sounds of Nature - definitely not the typical synth/s.
You didn't say anything about the samplers: Beep, Elipsis, Wavtransit & Grapheed are all great, each in its own unique way

they all introduce something novel. it's a matter of scope and field which may interest you.
sometimes the way development develops may not be what you expect
eg. rastabox is (essentially?) a very simple yet novel implementation which i expect will be widely popular.

you come and go, you come and go. amitabha neither a follower nor a leader be tagore "where roads are made i lose my way" where there is certainty, consideration is absent.

It'll probably end up everything gets a recommendation (i should have realised that really, horses for courses etc).
I guess that leaves just one option, not to bother trying any after all. j/k, i'll try them all. :p

Not to imply that other entries don't offer anything new, but this one stands out for me in producing specialised, and different sounds.

Hi,
My Kx-Modulad is a sound designer tool with real new features... but some of its presets are very classic. It's my choice.
I don't know what the basic users want...
How can they enjoy a new feature if they don't know really what they can do with it...
A lot devs can make toys. I prefer another way to work the sound.
This plugin completes my other plugins. that's all.

I said that because so much users think about the analog synthesis like a classic way to produce electronic sounds.
But this synthesis is very efficient because with it, it's more easy to create complex sounds.
The natural and musical sound is complex. That's all.
Use new gui, new parameters, that's fine but if the result is a the usual numeric sound...
I like the Xoxos's plugin... very good filling with these kind of thing.
