I've actually got a mixer (Mackie CFX-12) which I don't use anymore. I'd prefer to leave it out of the chain because I'm afraid that it would further color the signal, taking me another step away from 'true' before rendering.
But if the above suggestions don't do it, I will definitely give it a shot.
I assume that you recommend XLR's over the TRS cables, right?
Is there any real difference there?
